  1. I know that must have been dissapointing - sometimes - just like the rest of us they are having a bad day - or a bad day at home, or a headache you are doing well, quite ahead of schedule, keep it up!
  2. up in the right corner where your name is you can adjust your statistics. I hope you are having follow up with your surgeon, they need to know you're having that kind of discomfort.
  3. so many of us go through this same emotion at that time, it's just a lot of changes all at once, you kind of expect a big pay off, but keep on - it will get easier and the big pay off will come.
  4. how much did you have to loose to get there?
  5. I love this show. yes, the stories are extreme - but I do not think any single other thing helped me prepare for surgery or gives me such a reality check on the excuses already in the back of my mind.
  6. my doctor explained to me that in the first six months there is still swelling and things are not back to normal, which is why your stomach can seem to stretch after the "honeymoon" period. the doctor told me they leave the least stretchy part of the stomach. I have no doubt that xray of stomach after surgery and after a year show a difference, but I do not think it is anything that someone has done "wrong" but rather a normal part of the process. I am pretty sure that weight gain would be due to eating around the sleeve, or drinking calories.
  7. I think you are going to need medical tests and a doctor for this one. could it be an ulcer? inflammation? a narrow spot? any of those. needs to be checked out.
  8. one way we get the sausage flavor in our meat sauce is to use half ground sirloin, half ground turkey breast and add salt, pepper and herbs d provance. that herb blend gives it a very sausage taste.
  9. it is all just so individual - I had a pickle slice tonight and no problems from it. I am 3 weeks out.
  10. I did not have a puree stage, so I can not answer that, but I did not have restriction on liquids once the swelling goes down, and that varies from person to person. I will say this. your stomach is smaller than it was. and so, even if she left it a smidge larger than another doctor might you alone will control what you put in it, and that will determine if you regain. you can do this!
  11. I already had a vitamix, and it is fabulous! Thankfully I did not have to do a pureed stage. full liquids to soft foods.
  12. I really enjoy the ocean spray diet cran grape on the rocks.
  13. when you visit the doctor do you also get to see a NUT? you may be not eating enough as crazy as that can be.
  14. Focusing on the percentage of excess weight lost is definitely logical,.................and yet it didn't occur to me to do that instead of fixating on the number on the scale. Thanks for your post. I've lost 79% of my excess weight (as determined by my own original goal weight and BMI) from my highest weight at six months and two weeks out. I've set a new goal weight so I do still have a ways to go, but I'm making better progress than I thought. That's certainly a much more encouraging (and sensible) way to look at it than I had been. yes, that is a much more sensible way to look at it, except Math. :-) I couldn't figure it that way to save me life.
  15. I do not know how old you are or how long your relationship is - but my husband and I married in our 20s. I remember as we began to get older, and I wondered about attractiveness, things he mentioned, struggling with both of us getting older and I told him, look at some point, if we both are fortunate you will be married to an 80 yr old woman who is still interested in being sexually active - so get over whatever issues you are having. I am a feminine woman in love with a manly man. that ought to be enough. Thankfully he dealt with those issues and we have never had another hiccup no matter what my weight has been, or no matter what our age has been. You deserve this, he does too, and so I hope that he can reconcile any issues he may have.
  16. I make my unjury shakes with Fairlife milk, which adds extra Protein. if I have a food that is lower in protein I mix in some powdered milk.
  17. I take a dulcolax daily, but also I make sure to eat some kind of Beans daily. it gives me bulk,to move things along and also gives me Protein. Lima beans and black beans and refried beans are my favorites.
  18. I am allowed to take pills post sleeve. it's the reason I chose sleeve.
  19. I am so thankful you survived! I am so thankful you survived!
  20. today while in my pjs (no spandex) I noticed my flabby butt was wagging behind me as I walked. encouraging but a little unsettling!
  21. you two should probably start a thread about your mutual dislike and not inflict it on the rest of us. and as for you Babbs you have had some helpful posts, I would hate to ignore you but this is just crazy stuff right there on both sides.
  22. my husband has always been a normal weight. I was about 40 pounds lighter when we married - and while his only worry is that I will get too slim - he has worried about my health and loosing me to obesity related diseases. we have been married a long time - and he is supportive of me. He says, if there are any issues we will work through them the same as we have with any other problems because my health, and keeping me alive is the most important thing.
  23. I have not seen any posts that are nasty? people are just answering the questions asked..............
  24. the NUT will help you know what to expect, and what to eat during each stage. It will be about education and expectations.
  25. my PCP said to get Protein on everything. she recommended adding powdered milk on to non protein foods. She has had several patients, and her sister come through without loosing their hair after sleeve with this plan. 1. I am thankful she has been so supportive and 2. I am going to give it a try.
