I've also bought a Squatty Potty as I've tried many medications. I thought it has to be a good idea as a non medication aid. I am impressed with it as are other family members. I've now realised I need to take something every day for now. I'm still a newbie at 10 weeks post op today. It's been the only problem I've had. ????

I take 4 stool softeners a day plus 2 Gummy fibers at night. I think Water is also the key with all of this. I'm 6 months out and this is still a HUGE issue, especially if I don't get enough water. One thing that has really helped though is a Squatty Potty. Seriously. I was having to resort to using (and I'm sorry if this is clearly too much TMI) um...surgical gloves and Vasaline at times because I was in so much pain and nothing was moving out of the trap door so to speak. The SP has taken care of that.

Here's a pic from a gala I went to with my husband at the Plaza Hotel. We were fancy fancy but inside all I could think of was wow I am actually wearing a size 8 dress! I was previously a 16 (on a good day)!

I agree with Inner Surfer Girl. Couldn't have said it better myself. I had my first stall weeks 2 and 3 out - then I dropped like six pounds during week 4. Just hang in there!

It's great that you are doing so well. Unless you are really swollen, you probably won't feel much of any restriction until you get to solid foods. What you will be looking for is feeling satisfied and not "full". It will be really easy to go from satisfied to really uncomfortable with one bite so it is very important to measure portion sizes, take very small bites, chew thoroughly, and eat slowly.
For now, sipping slowly instead of taking big swallows should keep you from overdoing it.
As to weight loss, just stay off the scale for the first few weeks. Some people gain after surgery due to swelling and Fluid retention, and just about everyone experiences a stall at about three weeks post-op.
Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids. Take your Vitamins as directed. And exercise when cleared.
    Embrace the Stall!

It went really well. My dad had WLS surgery a few years ago so my family has been exposed to this before. When I first got there I got a couple "you look great" and "how are you feelings" from my aunts and a cousin, and one "how much have you lost". I answered and it was over within a few minutes and we all just went about our business. There was a veggie tray and cheese, cheeseball, and crackers in addition to my appetizer. Everyone else ate pizza later on and I just made two meals of the appetizers over the day.

So, the trick to traveling with Deviled Eggs is don't assemble them till you get there. Put all the egg white "cups" in a big zippie bag, and mix your filling up and put it in another zippie. When you get where you are going, arrange the cups on a plate, cut the corner of the filling bag, and pipe the filling into the cups. Takes like 30 seconds and takes a ton of hassle out of Deviled Eggs.

I think I'm going to make meatballs! I thought about deviled eggs but I need to get one of those fancy egg pans so they don't end up a mess. Lol.
Thank you all for the suggestions! There are so many options but I just couldn't think of any.
