I have no idea. They said no snacking between meals. If I don't snack or have Protein drinks between meals there is no way I can get on enough protein. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

At 4 weeks post-op I was on soft foods, so in addition to rote in shakes I ate cottage cheese, geek yogurt, turkey, tuna, salmon, protein Soup, etc.

I am 4 weeks post surgery and am having difficulties getting in all the recommended Protein. I feel like the only way to get it all in is to drink Protein drinks but then that would all I would be able to get down in a day besides my Water. What is everyone else eating to get in their protein??

I was sleeved 8/30 as well. Felt hunger a couple times over the last few days when I didn't eat every few hours. The good news tho is that when I felt it, I ate a few bites and was satisfied and went on with my day. I'm in a stall right now, not really counting but think it's been about 11ish days. Just riding it and not stressing. My body will figure it out and start losing again soon I'm sure, seems that everyone does. Glad you're doing well! Don't stress the hunger, your body's doing what your body needs to do.

My first week post op I had lost 16 pounds, I was so excited! Today I had my 3 week post op appointment and I am up 1 pound. What the heck!! How did I not lose weight in 2 weeks and actually gain a pound?! I'm exercising and eating what I should be. Anyone else go through periods like this?

3 years ago I was scheduled to have sleeve surgery. A couple days before I got so much anxiety that I cancelled my surgery. I was a wreck! I ended up dieting and losing 50 pounds on my own, only to gain all that weight back within a year. 3 yrs later here I am 9 days post op and I feel great. I have lost 16 pounds already. So far I am so happy that I went through this. I have had several surgeries in the past and recovery from the sleeve has been the easiest. I feel great, losing weight and not hungry. I never thought I would say that. My only regret is that I didn't have this done 3 yrs ago. Stay strong and positive! You can do this!!

Thanks to everyone for the kind responses so far. I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in this! Also really appreciate everyone who shared stories about canceling surgery and trying to lose on their own again because this is exactly what I would end up doing and just like you I'd be right back where I am in a year

What did I do in the first seven days post-op? I followed my bariatric team's orders to the letter - liquids only, high Protein and low carb -- and that was for four full weeks, not just the first seven days btw. Why would I think I know better than they do? My track record proves that I'm not good at making smart choices with respect to food and my health. Why would I override the health and medical judgment of the people who I trusted with my life?
I really hope the person above who is talking about eating ice cream, pizza, prime rib and coke 10 days out of surgery is a troll, and based on that hope I'm not responding any further to them.
When did I start losing the lbs? Not really sure, I stayed off the scale until my post-op 4 week weigh-in. Why would I stress myself out by getting on the scale so soon after major surgery? That's a trauma to the body that is going to cause weird metabolic responses, and I wanted no part of freaking out over it and getting tempted to toss my team's plan for me out the window.
I'm glad I stayed on plan and resisted temptation to just do what I felt like doing. Minus 200 lbs, went from a size 6X to a 6 (okay really more like an 8 or 10 but in some brands I can wear a 6 so I like to claim it!). My team knew what was best for me, I trusted them, and it worked out great.

I had my 1 week post op appt today. My doc said I am doing great!! The only issue I have had since coming home is an annoying headache that just keeps hanging on. He had me get some Eccedrin Tension Headache. It has Tylenol and caffeine in it. I tried the first pill whole and it just sat there. Second pill I broke in two and it went down much better. Headache seems to be getting better.
I've lost 30 lbs since Juky 25th which was my consultation and 10 lbssince the surgery

I backed out of the first surgery date about a year ago and tried to do it my own. That wasn't very smart since I did lose some weight I still ended up on more medication. The best thing I did was a year later when I rescheduled and I was still able to get the surgery. Life savor and an eye opener for sure !!!!

I had my sleeve on 8/8/16. I'm 62 yrs old and don't no why I waited to it sooner. Just tryed myself for a long time. Saw my surgeon today for first time. He told me something that truly made me thankful I did this.
When my pathoghy report came back from the stomach removal they found a cancerous tumor self contain. He said probably if I had not had this surgery the tumor would have grown much bigger and spread. He had never had this happen. I truly felt like the Lord was with me in this journey. Being very thankful.

My Dr also has me on Clear Liquids first week. I couldn't stomach the canned broths so I went to Subway and just strained their chicken noodle Soup. I added Isopure Protein to it as well - hoping this will give me some energy. Still weak as a kitten.
I agree, 1st few days were tough but doing pretty good today. Return to work on Tuesday. Desk job so should be ok.

I was just sleeved Monday, 8.22. I was a nervous wreck the last couple weeks. The first three days post op I was sick with the decision I made, but now just a couple days later I'm feeling better every day and I'm just excited to watch the scale change.
