  5. Oh ChunkyMonkey76, hope everything sorts out for you. When do you expect to get the results? Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  6. Wow ChunkyMonkey - that is so close - not long now. Hope you are doing ok in the lead up to Friday. Justright66 - hope you can sort out the clash of dates so that both you and your son get the surgeries you need. Good Luck!
  7. A closed group means that you need to be approved to join but it also means that their posts don't show in your friends and families nesfeeds or on your page. I checked this by getting in hubby's FB account and looking me up! So it is a secret group from your FB friends and family if that is what you mean Sent from my SM-N910G using the BariatricPal App
  8. Hi all Good to see the numbers growing. There is also a fantastic FB site Gastric Bypass and Weight Loss Surgery Australia - the URL is https://www.facebook.com/groups/1522935474586942/?ref=br_tf. I joined this group as well and there are so many people of there supporting each other. If you are FB, i would suggest you join this group as well. I finally told my parents yesterday that I am doing the surgery and they were pretty good about it. They think it is radical but they are concerned about my weight, so they said they would provide me with whatever support I need - so that is a great outcome. I have started the Optifast shakes a couple of weeks early - to ease myself into the process really! I have been concerned that I would not be able to manage the pre-op diet. Good to hear everyone is doing good at the moment. I was a little overwhelmed about the surgery and my new life the other day, but I have been feeling much better the last couple of days - just focusing on the positives and what I can control really. Take care and chat soon D
  9. Hi Revisional - I have chosen the RNY - the date is closing in fast!
  10. Hi eclecticwingtips & welcome to the group as well!
  11. Thanks ChunkyMonkey76 for your quick reply! No this isn't revision surgery for me - just tired of dieting and only getting bigger! I just can't do it anymore! Wow next Friday is so close - which hospital will you be in?
  12. Hi all I am also in Brisbane and have a surgery date of 7 April at greenslopes private hospital with Dr Andrew Barbour. I am nervous and excited about my new life but I am starting to get scared about my ability to stick to the liquid and mush part of the diet! I am so glad to have found this site and this discussion point, as I was looking for a local support group! Chat soon Daina

    Sodas

Pepsi Max was my addiction! I have swapped diet coke/pepsi max for soda Water or sparkling water - this gives me the fizzy drink without all the other inclusions!

    Long wait to April...

My bypass op is scheduled for 7 April and at this stage the only people who know are my husband and a couple of friends. I haven't told my parents yet as they were a little negative about the idea when i told them I was considering it. I am nervous and excited all at the same time!
