Hi, I'm having my surgery 2/25 and my dr doesn't require a pre-op diet either...just the day before surgery I have to do liquids.

My doctor only requires me to do a pre-op diet the day before the surgery I did go to the store today and got my broth, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free Jello. I'm really excited to have my surgery. Where do you girls live? Anyone from SoCal?

@@Yazan Masa you only had surgery a few months ago. In another 6 months you're going to have serious health issues and malnutrition if you go on taking no Vitamins and not getting enough Protein. You can die that way.
@ I take a supplement that is iron/b12/folic acid all in one, in one capsule, twice a day. It's prescribed by my doctor and covered by basically all insurances. Taking this allows me to reduce my necessary daily regimen to: a Multivitamin, a calcium+D3, and my Iron supplement. That's a LOT more manageable now. Eventually I may add back in Biotin and fish oil, in which case I will probably get a second pill holder. One for meds, ones for supplements. Hope you're healing well.

I know this much, Vitamins and Protein are critical to a WLS patients overall success. Not taking them against doctor recommendations just isn't very responsible. Both bypass and sleeve patients require long term nutrition management. There is a reason it is for life.
Given the sleeve is so new and there is not a lot of data, I hope irresponsible patients who end up with complications don't skew the real data. Those that do follow doctors orders.
    My two cents!
