I am just days away from 2 months out, but wanted to share my favorite NSV so far. I am a Type 2 diabetic who has been on Metformin for 10 years and a Bydureon non-insulin injectable for 2 years. Even while on medication my average fasting blood sugar was 140. I was taken off all medications during my pre-surgery liquid phase with the docs intention to add them back in slowly once we had a better idea of where I would be post-op. 2 months later and not only am I not on meds, but my fasting blood sugar was 85 this morning.
Thank God I went forward with this surgery. If I never lose another pound this alone would be worth it.

Thanks for this thread. I'm going through the exact same thing. I lost 20 pre op and 21 post op. Surgery was 10/6. For the past 1 1/2 week I've still been at the same weight. I'm waiting for this stall to break. I was getting frustrated but this thread has relaxed me. Thx again!

Yay we did it! Octobers over, we're all done. Good luck in the weeks and months to come

Pain meds in the hospital made me nauseous but that went away immediately after they gave me the nausea meds. The gas pain sucked but goes away after a few days. Dehydration is an issue if you don't continue to sip sip sip. Other then that no pain for me.

It becomes second nature not to stuff your mouth. We became so aware how fast our daughter and others inhale their food. It really is enjoyable to eat slowly with small.bites.

5 days post op, have walked a lot since the evening of the surgery, minimal gas pain, tolerating liquids, incisions healing nicely and 31 lbs down since I started the liquid diet on 9/22. Coconut Water and lots of walking for that horrible post op gas.

Hang in there anyone that's scared and not yet been sleeved! It must be hard being in late Oct and reading all our scary posts. I had my op on the 5th so was one of the early ones. I also had my gallbladder out.
I wanted to reassure any scaredy cats like me out there as I was really terrified and dreading it.
I'm a week in and feel really good.
I only needed pain meds for the 1st few hours after coming round. I had terrible nausea but the nurse told me that the nausea could be from the morphine so we knocked it to 'on demand' and I was fine after that and have never needed pain meds since. So please bare that in mind if you are feeling nauseous and on morphine you may want to try asking for it on demand. I took meds for acid reflux for a few days but that seems fine to be now.
Attaching pic of one of my incisions as the steristrips just came off. It looks red but it's a small incision(Multivitamin for scale). No stitches and not sore. It can be scary when you see 7 ( in my case) bandages so I wanted to reassure you.

I get the same feeling. I think it's the liquids going into the narrow stomach opening. I try to take smaller sips. I'm sure it'll go away soon.

Yeah this part sucks. My surgery was the 6th so guess this is day 2 post op. Im on my pain meds. I keep getting the hiccups which doesn't feel to hot. I've been tired.
