The pain right out of surgery for me was like a 7 out of 10. Don't quite remember what was given to me in recovery because I threw up like 5 times but when I got to the room and I told the nurse I needed pain medication it was given to me in my I V every 3 hours I don't really think I needed it I just wanted to sleep lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Don't back out. I was scared I was sleeved March 17 and the morning of I cried all the way up until they gave me something to calm my nerves. The nurses told me most people give the same reaction. All I can say is I'm 7 days post op and I don't know if it was gas or acid in my stomach but I started taking these and my problem has ceased lol I just thought I would share.

Yes.... I'm so comfortable now. I'm taking those and Multivitamins (gummies). My stomach was killing me with bubbling gas and acid. Now I don't take the pain med or the metoclopramide. Don't need it. I sleep through the night with no waking up from stomach pain. Passing gas easily and having bowel movements. (shrugging) I don't know but it works for me. Also I haven't been tired before I HAD to take a nap now I have more energy. However I do bounce back faster then most (knock on wood). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm hungry too. I'm 7 days post op and I want to chew on something. I was wondering if anyone "cheated" before there time? It's hard to do when you so use to eating. I've been asking people that I personally know that have had the sleeve lap or reroute and all have given me different answers but they are dare Devils lol how ever I can say when they did "cheat" it was very soft food like mash potatoes baby food smashed Beans etc and they are fine. I got sleeved March 17 and I'm so happy it's over. SW 230 CW 230 Height 5' I'm so excited. I have some gas but it's bare able. I'm keeping fluids down I'm drinking 8 oz of clear 8 oz of Protein 2 Popsicles a day. I can't wait to start loosing. Right after surgery I was throwing up blood and all I wanted to do was sleep but by 10 pm that night I was fine. Up and walking and taking sips. Still was a little grogginess that passed the next day. So far not hungry and feeling great. I hope this info help those who are pre op and trying to decide if this is for them. Im so happy I did it. The nurse question the DR about the blood in my vomit and I heard him tell her it was normal and it will go away once my patch kicks in and it did. Im getting sleeved tomorrow. I'm excited and a little scared which is far better then how scared I was a day ago but after talking to the anesthesia I feel better and also reading some of you all topics as well. Thanks guys... I'm getting ready to get discharged. I can't wait to go home. Surgery went well. I had myself all worked up lol. It was not as bad as I thought. I did a lot of throwing up whet it was done but when I got through that's I was good. I went to see a cardiologist today to get clearance for my surgery on March 17 and he said that I need to take a stress test to be cleared. That's fine but here is my issue. I don't have any cardiac problems. In my family's history there is no Cardiac history of no sort. My PCP did an EKG before I went to this cardiologist and he said everything was FINE, however my bariatrics team wanted an EKG from a cardiologist. Now I go to this guy he says my EKG was fine but before clearance lets do a stress test. For the most part I'm am a healthy just overweight for my height. I'm not on medication never have been I've had to c-sections and was up walking around the same night. I'm thinking he just want to milk me and my insurance company because before I left the off is schedulers cornered me into scheduling a 6 week check up with this Dr after my surgery. However I can get this done with my PCP it's a one stop shop. Did any of you that DO NOT OR DID NOT have cardiac problems have to take a stress test? Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

I'm a south Florida sleever. I'm from West Palm Beach and I'm getting sleeved March 17, I am starting to become afraid. The closer it gets the more afraid I am. I know that I'm going to get it done because this is truly what I want but I'm still scared. Scared of what you may ask? Dying during surgery. Not bragging but I'm not on any medications im just over weight to me and the Dr but to others they say I'm not. That I can just exercise and lose SOME weight. I hear that this is the best decision that some people have made. I've done my research on my dr and he has no malpractice and no sanctions etc he has been practicing for 18 years. I feel comfortable with him and his team it's just when I'm alone and I start thinking I think about WHAT IF? I have two under age children and I feel horrible thinking about what if. I'm sure this surgeon can do this with his eyes closed. Sorry to be a Debbie downer. On the upside I think about March 18 it will be done and behind me.
