    Okay, so I suffer from anxiety, after the surgery my anxiety got worse. After I reached the 1 year mark, I became unbearable. I lashed out at my family that they weren't supportive of my job and choices, and even cut them all off and quit talking to them (we are very close!!) I was so angry and shaky and anxiety driven ALL THE TIME. My anxiety medication didn't help a bit. What was worse is I KNEW they didn't do anything wrong, I was overreacting...but I was so angry all the time! It wasn't until a particularly bad night that I realized what was wrong with me: I had become hypoglycemic.

    My insulin drops quickly soon after I eat. It's an uncommon side effect, but not particularly rare. Hypoglycemia (or even low blood sugar) causes anxiety, shakiness, sweating, nightmares...everything I had been experiencing. I saw my doctor, am now taking my blood sugar level throughout the day, and am back to my regular self. Yes, my family forgave me! Lol!

    There is a difference between Reactive Hypoglycemia and low blood sugar, but as I said, simply having regular low blood sugar would do it. I thought I was going to have to be put in a looney bin. I'm so happy I found out what my body was experiencing.

    Lastly, it could that her blood levels are perfect, and she's simply feeling very insecure about herself and her choices. That's not an excuse to lash out at you; just give perspective. If it's hurting you, tell her you need some time to take care of yourself, and give your friendship a break. You need to be taken care of, and frankly she's going through so much stress and change that she can't be there for you. You need to be there for you and take care of yourself. I'm afraid to say that it's really no one's fault; just the worse timing for both of your needs to be met. Take a break and take care yourself, hon.

    And tell her to check her blood sugar, just in case....

    I have both depression, anxiety, and ADD. I feel you girl!
    Sleeve has actually proven, over the long term, to help people eventually ease up off of their meds. It's usually very positive.
    That said, you can expect mood swings the first 3-6 months (including the pre-op diet.) It's a nutty time and your body is like, "WTF HAPPENED IN HERE?!!?"
    If you go in prepared with that knowledge, you'll be fine. This is the first time I've ever heard of self harm, but I could see the concern if that's been a past issue for you. I had that problem about 10 yrs ago, and it hasn't even crossed my mind. This has honestly been great for me, but I also went in fully prepared with the facts and with my counselor on speed dial.
    This will be an emotional journey. You're changing your life forever, and that's scary. However, more health, happiness and stability is on the other side. That's proven.
    If you need a buddy, I'm here for you. I'm back on my meds, but honestly don't feel the need as much. I'm diligently taking them anyway; need to give my body some stability while it heals!
    Don't be afraid. With a counselor and a support system like this one, you will be fine.

    I am usually a very nice person online. Truly. I hate trolls and trolling is super not my thing. But that girl has no sense of empathy and its frankly terrifying. #ByeFelicia

    Everyone here can guess. I would guess still CO2. But that won't help you if it's something serious, like a blood clot. Call your Dr asap. Always better to have a Dr tell you "you're fine," instead of, "you should have called 3 days ago!"
    Call the Dr. right away!

    Everyone here can guess. I would guess still CO2. But that won't help you if it's something serious, like a blood clot. Call your Dr asap. Always better to have a Dr tell you "you're fine," instead of, "you should have called 3 days ago!"

    You won't fail. You never have. Every step you've taken has given you more experience.
    The sleeve has a higher success rate than lap band. The tool you're going to get is stronger. But as you know, it's just a tool.
    The real question is, what have you learned from your previous steps that will help you in this one? Where do you struggle? When do you get discouraged? What foods do you love that keep calling you back? How can you incorporate those foods into your life in a non-damaging way?
    When getting the sleeve, I took a lot of time imagining my life change. I made a board of what I wanted it to look like. I wanted me smiling, I wanted to be doing yoga, and I wanted to live a long life. I put foods on there that I loved that were healthy. Here's the catch though; I also put foods on there that I loved that weren't "healthy." I had a slice of pizza, and a bowl of ice cream...because those are things I love. If I try to cut them out completely, it will cut away at my happiness. I don't picture myself eating salad everyday and being happy.
    But, I CAN picture myself eating a lot more healthy things and being happy.
    Allow yourself to love those foods and let them be special. Not a reward, or only for Saturdays, but just special. Find the healthier foods that you feel are special too.
    Your new stomach will help you with Portion Control. Your new outlook on food with help you decide what special foods to eat and when.
    No one looks at their happiest self and pictures them only having Protein shakes. Life is about variety, love and experiences. Add food; don't subtract it. Try more variety and have more food and non-food related experiences. That's when you'll finally be living a different lifestyle.
    You'll do awesome. Appreciate the hard work you've done. You're obviously one tough cookie. You've got this.
