  1. Lol. My two look at me like "hey, idiot, quit making so much noise" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App And we are loaded with skunks around here right now so there's no pre-dawn scouting for them Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I think, perhaps, I just want to squeeze all I can out of each day. In the past, I would nap mid day. I have no need for that any longer. But, there is only so much one can do at this hour, without disturbing the masses. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I don't know about anyone else, but my sleep cycles are completely messed up. I've tried melatonin, you name it. However, I either can't fall asleep until 2-3 in the morning, or if I do manage to get to la-la land at a decent hour, I'm up wide eyed and ready to go at 2 am. No matter what time I'm up to or wake up at, by 6 am, my day has completely begun and it's off to the races. Had this issue before- when I was really suffering from the rheumatoid arthritis, but since surgery, I've been symptom-free. Yet sleep still eludes me.... 6. LOL. That would be a definitive "NO". Maybe I should go back and ninja edit my post to say "Never spoken these words to anyone". Damn. Just had my man-card credentials questioned. Damn. LMAO. I don't think your man card has ever been in question my friend. I mean- look at the skills with the grill alone... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. The pistachios were much better than the almonds I'd say. Perhaps because the almonds have a skin, whereas the seasonings creep into the pistachio shell and actually coat the nut itself. Either way, they WERE good... The army came in post school and work and devoured them while I was finishing dinner. Next question was "can you make the sugary almond ones?" Well, maybe if I have some extra Splenda.... Mm. There's a thought. Cinnamon, some chili peppers heat and the brown sugar Splenda. I need to run to the market. 8. Okay......here it is..........words I've never spoken to any women....anywhere or anytime.............. I am admiring your nuts. @@Dub I got nothing to say back to that. Maybe...thank you for admiring my nuts? No, no, that's just not right. I'll go back to nothin'. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Ok here they are- with one change- I added Parmesan cheese to them while they were cooling. Took the flavor profile way up. The pistachio is better than the almonds. But either way- yum. Great snack! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Spicy Nuts..... Yeah! Course, I love nuts any way they come! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Just got home from the market- got pistachios and almonds. Can't wait!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Damn. Eastern Carolina vinegar sauce is truly my fave- and go to sauce. Whenever I'm in NC, i usually over indulge. Try to find the most back road shacks I can to eat in because they're typically the best. Now- if you're willing to share your recipe for it, I'll share my Nonna's spaghetti gravy recipe with you!! And I don't give that to just anyone! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Suggestion- if you eat hot/spicy and your mouth is on fire, save a little teaspoon worth of room to eat a dollop of sour cream. Milk products relieve the heat- Water as I'm sure you know, doesn't. My .22 cents worth Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. While doing my daily recipe searching, came across this. Making it tonight for the weekend, but looks too good to hold off sharing. It uses pistachios here, but can work on any nut. I'll likely do a mixture of almonds and pistachios Recipe- Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Heck- any of us who are on FB and have lost weight are posting more pics of ourselves. The truth is most of us avoided being in pictures because we didn't want it recorded for posterity and we didn't want to see it. The changes we see make us feel more attractive, and really while losing the weight boils down to health, feeling "pretty" or "handsome" is a darned good side effect My kids- now past the need to take selfies with their mama- were getting irritated with me. I told them honestly that I had avoided pictures with them over the last 8-9 years and needed to take them to make up for it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. I'm just at 5.5 months and still average 800 per day. Also, my pouch hasn't seemed to change to accommodate any more than 1/2 c of food at a meal. One bite too many and I'm foaming. Hence, I eat one bite short of it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. Adding a little pearl my mother told me from the time I was young- don't put down on paper what you don't want everyone to know. Same goes for message boards and the Internet in general. 22. This might be a fun little 5 minute test for y'all. http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/376738-This-might-be-a-fun-little-5-minute-test-for-y%27all%2E Maybe before people post they can go to @@LipstickLady 's thread here, read their personality type, and then think before they speak!!! Perhaps knowing if you are easily set on edge, are prone to irrational outbursts, or just plain argumentative would help them hit the cancel post button before going too far.... One could always "save draft" if you needed to reflect on what you were going to say instead of immediately pounding out letters on the keyboard and tossing them out into the universe. 23. Interesting- and pretty darned on point. Thanks for this. ENFP (Extraverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving) As an ENFP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in primarily via your intuition. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit in with your personal value system. ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it. ENFPs have an unusually broad range of skills and talents. They are good at most things which interest them. Project-oriented, they may go through several different careers during their lifetime. To onlookers, the ENFP may seem directionless and without purpose, but ENFPs are actually quite consistent, in that they have a strong sense of values which they live with throughout their lives. An ENFP needs to feel that they are living their lives as their true Self, walking in step with what they believe is right. They see meaning in everything, and are on a continuous Quest to adapt their lives and values to achieve inner peace. They're constantly aware and somewhat fearful of losing touch with themselves. ENFPs are charming, ingenuous, risk-taking, sensitive, people-oriented individuals with capabilities ranging across a broad spectrum. They have many gifts which they will use to fulfill themselves and those near them, if they are able to remain centered and master the ability of following through. ENFP Strengths Curious – When it comes to new ideas, ENFPs aren't interested in brooding – they want to go out and experience things, and don't hesitate to step out of their comfort zones to do so. ENFPs are imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of the big, mysterious puzzle called life. Observant – ENFPs believe that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move and every idea is part of something bigger. To satisfy their curiosity, ENFPs try to notice all of these things, and to never miss a moment. Energetic and Enthusiastic – As they form new connections and ideas, ENFPs won't hold their tongues – they're excited about their findings, and share them with anyone who'll listen. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving ENFPs a chance to make more social connections, and of giving them a new source of information and experience, as they fit their new friend's opinions into their existing ideas. Excellent Communicators – It's a good thing that ENFPs have such strong people skills, or they'd never express their ideas. ENFPs enjoy both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for them, and are adept at steering conversations towards their desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced. Know How to Relax – It's not all “nature of the cosmos” discussions with ENFPs – people with this personality type know that sometimes nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life's joys. This Intuitive trait lets ENFPs know that it's time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even their closest friends. Very Popular and Friendly – All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. ENFPs get along with pretty much everyone, and their circles of friends stretch far and wide. ENFP Weaknesses Poor Practical Skills – When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, ENFPs have exceptional talent. Unfortunately their skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects struggles. Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, the ENFP's ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas. Find it Difficult to Focus – ENFPs are natural explorers of interpersonal connections and philosophy, but this backfires when what needs to be done is that meaty report sitting right in front of them. It's hard for ENFPs to focus and maintain interest when tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts. Overthink Things – ENFPs don't take things at face value – they look for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It's not uncommon for ENFPs to lose a bit of sleep asking themselves why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it. Get Stressed Easily – All this overthinking isn't just for their own benefit – ENFPs, especially turbulent ones, are very sensitive, and care deeply about other's feelings. A consequence of their popularity is that others often look to them for guidance and help, which takes time, and it's easy to see why ENFPs sometimes get overwhelmed, especially when they can't say yes to every request. Highly Emotional – While emotional expression is healthy and natural (with ENFPs even viewing it as a core part of their identity), it can come out intensely, which can cuase problems for this personality type. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, ENFPs can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best, and destructive at worst. Independent to a Fault – ENFPs loathe being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – they want to be seen as highly independent masters of their own fates, even possessors of an altruistic wisdom that goes beyond draconian law. The challenge for ENFPs is that they live in a world of checks and balances, a pill they are not happy to swallow. Famous ENFP's Oscar Wilde Salvador Dali Ellen DeGeneres Sandra Bullock Orson Welles Mark Twain Che Guevara Aldous Huxley Career Choices Consultant Psychologist Entrepreneur Actor Teacher Counselor Politician / Diplomat Writer / Journalist Television Reporter Computer Programmer / Systems Analyst Scientist Engineer Artist ENFP In Summary ... Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. See life as full of possibilities. Make connections between events and information very quickly, and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see. Want a lot of affirmation from others, and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. Sister! I am SO with you on this! I was hoping the girls would go down as I lost weight. Nope. Of course, they've always been "there", but a girl could dream the impossible dream.
