    Chime in!

Okay- mine is definitely stolen from Trader Joes, but it is OH SO GOOD!!! Using their ready to eat lentils, crumbled feta ( I often used crumbled goat cheese too!!!!), their bruschetta and chopped arugula, I mix it together by eye--- no measuring needed. Depending on my "mood", I'll add more or less of the bruschetta or cheese, and sometimes I will use basil instead of arugula. For a party everyone loves it, especially if served with pita or tortilla chips. But it is Bari-friendly without the carby chips- and I often make a meal out of it. The other thing is I often warm up my portion instead of eating it cold or room temp. And you can make as large or as small a batch as you want!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My story

Premiere shakes are NOT your best choice for this early out. I do NOT do milk based shakes either... Get some Syntrax or unjury if possible- like the chicken broth and DEFINITELY get some UNFLAVORED whey Protein powder. You can add it to anything- yogurt, crystal light drinks- sky is the limit.... But you want and NEED a good 100% PURE whey protein ISOLATE powder. It is your best bet for success. Those "protein blend" drinks are suspect. You don't know what percentage of what kind of protein you are actually getting. I WISH they would stop recommending Premiere to people!!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You left the hospital with stitches? Not steri- strips? Very uncommon to be allergic to stitches. Not impossible. Just RARE! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NSV clothing [emoji51]

I had a moment in a clothing store that was so overwhelming. Thank GOD it was on a Friday- my mom's day off from work. I was literally sitting in the dressing room sobbing. She drove 30 minutes to the store to "rescue" me... I had moved from the plus sized side to "regular" sizes... And had even skipped over the larger 14-16's to 12's. It was HUGELY emotional. Life altering, shook to my core emotional. At that moment I knew this was not only possible, but HAPPENING, and I haven't looked back.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. No issue cooking after the second week. I do taste as I go- just not the carb stuff. I will put some rice or potatoes and "tongue" taste it but will spit it out if I'm looking for a certain flavor profile. ( DO NOT GET THIS CONFUSED WITH CHEWING TO SPIT! It's more akin to someone tasting multiple wines...) I still find great pleasure in preparing and serving to my family. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@Sai -- someone ( was it you?) mentioned if they won the lottery they would set up a fund for people who needed/could not afford the surgery. What a lovely thought....

      Sharing the gift.

@ShelterDog64 taking this SERIOUSLY is paramount! And YOU do it well!!

Shower melts!!!! I'm a bath-bomb maker extraordinnare!!! But! Have you tried shower melts? Omg heavenly! And you bake the suckers on a low oven temp. Add in your fave smells..., make sure you make some eucalyptus ones for the days you need to open your sinuses. These are a great alternative!!!! If you need a recipe, pm me!!! I'm struggling, a lot.

Ok. Ok. You don't overeat. You sometimes can move around, other times you can't. Your choices are suspect, at best. Get the crap out of your house!!! If it isn't there, you can't eat it. If you don't buy it, you can't eat it. Period. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any Marathon Runners?

I just completed the Hot chocolate 15k a couple weeks ago... at 7 months out. I do not know when and if I can manage an entire marathon. Scary!!!! I originally opted to do the 5k, then changed it to the 15k at the last minute. I run 7-10 miles a day at least 5 days a week. Keeping up my energy was rough. I can't and won't do carbs and heaven forbid carb loading! As a bypass pt, I would certainly dump. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Losing yourself literally

Before you do a lower face lift, look into Sculptra... It lasts up to 5 years, and actually works to make your body make more collagen rather than just "fill" it in, like Juviderm or Restalyne. I had a huge issue with sagging skin around my lower jaw lines on both sides and the difference was VERY satisfactory. A good dermatologist or facial plastics person needs to administer it- not the nurse practitioner or esthetician. It is much more precise because of its mechanism of use. 23. I'm almost 8 months out and still no hunger... I stick to the 1/4 cup of food still, no need to increase it at this point. I'm still losing though at a slower clip. I'm really close to goal and that is fine. I don't know when I'll increase the volume. Perhaps it won't,increase and I'll just up the calories in a serving to maintain.
