  1. Boom! The scales have shifted with my altitude sickness. This deserves a dance party of one.

Because it's a different kind of dance party - the kind you have with your person, like Meredith and Christina in Grey's Anatomy, or you have them alone!

  3. Hi Everyone I had my 3 months followup today even though it was only 11 1/2 weeks. I have lost 40 pounds since surgery and a total of 222 from my highest weight. The Dr was very pleased with my lab results except my Folic Acid is a little low. He has given me a prescription to get the Folic Acid up to where it should be.

  4. I thought gaining water weight before your period was a myth, but going from 233 to 238 and then back to 233 in the space of a few days has made me a believer. Panic Over!

Thanks, me too! :-D Maybe I'm just noticing 'cause of weighing myself regularly, whereas before I didn't bother because it was like watching paint dry, waiting for those scales to actually move.

  5. So glad I went travelling - I'm eight weeks out of surgery, but I feel like I'm eight weeks into a new life. Had an amazing time hiking through the Olympic NP and the beaches in La Push yesterday. Today - Hoh Rainforest here I come!

Yay!! I only lost 2 lbs this week so was a little bummed, but I'm hoping it was because I couldn't swim or exercise because of my eye surgery :-D I think this is all an exercise in patience - my first ever ;-)

  13. Had surgery 4 weeks ago today at 314 pounds. Today I am down to 293. Is that a good weight loss for the first month., seeing as how I had lost 183 pounds before surgery?

You're doing great - there's no right or wrong amount to lose, everyone is just so different! I had a five week check up with my surgeon today and I asked him whether losing two stone in the past 6 1/2 weeks was good for my age and size, and he said to me that sure it was, but losing any amount is good. It's about using the operation as a crutch to sticking to a healthy diet and exercise, and just making a life style change for an overall great result. Some weeks the weight will seem to drop off, others it'll be stuck, but there's not a lot of rhyme or reason for it - the body does what the body does! As long as we get there in the end, no matter how long it takes, eh? :-D

Thanks Amelie and Valentina! Ditto - I feel the ache when I get out sometimes, especially in my ribs, but when I'm in there it's great!

I love Greek yogurt! I'm not sure if the US Starbucks do it (you don't have Costa do you? If you do then they might) but If you're out and about with friends or family then coffee shops usually have low fat greek yogurt with a fruit layer at the bottom. Costa has this low fat vanilla bean Greek yogurt that is sooo nice. I couldn't finish it, but it was nice to be out with my mum and able to eat something off the shelf!

  16. I'm sad I can't swim this week, but having 20/20 vision without glasses does away with some of that sadness! My poor body doesn't know what i'm doing to it - two surgeries in less than a month!

Thank you, both of you! I was three weeks yesterday - swimming is pretty much the only exercise I like - it's so calming, aside from boxercise and dancing which are both high impact, so not the best idea for now :-D

  23. I am now about 13 or 14 weeks out and have lost 43lbs. I feel like this is not good but i know everyone loses at their own pace. Is there any food out there that we can use when those salty cravings hit. I've really not had any sweet cravings which for me is a milestone in itself but am i lacking in the sodium department? What do any of you suggest for when those cravings hit?
