1-what is a chicken broth diet? I didn't have chicken broth so am not sure why you are drinking something you don't like.well i have couple of questions due to my surgery on Feb 8th and due to the curiosity
1-How to stay on a chicken broth diet? without wanting to puke
2-Can i also purred my Soups before surgery?
3-When can i have Snacks? (Just asking)
4-How long does it take for the scars to heal?
5-What cravings changed after surgery?
6-If i go out with family to at what are good choices?
Are you referring to your pre-op diet? The clear phase?
I haven't had any chicken broth and am doing fine.
2-Pureeing should be ok preop because texture doesn't matter except for when you are supposed to be on clear liquids.< /p>
3-pre-op or post-op? I have Snacks all the time.
4-My incisions healed in about four weeks when I was cleared to get in the pool. I still have scars.
5-For me, I find I "crave" more healthy foods.
6-again, are you talking pre-op or post-op? Post-op, it really depends on what phase you are on and where you go out to eat. Liquids: Soup is a good choice. Soft foods: soft fish, refried Beans, cottage cheese, etc.
Sorry I don't have more explicit answers. A lot of these answers really depend on your specific program requirements and where you are in the process.
Use your program materials and ask your NUT if you have questions about your specific requirements. Leading up to surgery and in the first month or so after surgery I didn't put anything in my mouth without double-checking my program manual.
1-Mostly like broth, like clear liquids
2-what's the difference from purred to liquid?
3-after surgery like about a month or two after? But the bariatric snacks
4-thank you (is there anything to make the scars lighter?)
5-thank you
6-talking about after surgery

1. Can you also have Protein shakes, sugar free Jello and sugar free Popsicle on your plan? I found that the variety of those things helped. I also tried a lot of different Protein Shakes and that kept things interesting. Just remember this phase does not last forever so you can make it through.well i have couple of questions due to my surgery on Feb 8th and due to the curiosity

2. The purée soups depends on your plan. Pre op I was only allowed Protein shakes, broth, SF Jello and SF Popsicles. Post op I was allowed puréed soups
3. For the first approx. three months I found it hard enough just to get all my protein and Water in for the day. food didn't taste very good in the beginning for me and I didn't want any Snacks, I just ate when I was hungry. We are all different. Just listen to your body, stick to your plan, and when you do eat snacks make sure they are healthy snacks and you will do fine.
4. Wish I could remember how long mine took to heal. I did go on a beach vacation at five weeks post op and they were completely healed by then.
5. After surgery my tasted changed drastically. I didn't have any cravings for about the first nine months. Now when I have cravings its for sweet things- pre op I loved chips bread and Pasta, now I have no cravings for those things. Now that I am at maintenance if I have a craving for something sweet I eat it and just get right back on my high protein low carb way of eating.
6. Going out to eat has always been easy for me. I just make sure to pick high protein food. Almost all restaurants have something you can pick from. Nowadays I usually just split a meal with my husband or get an appetizer. Makes eating out cheaper. For instance today I was out running errands and shopping and went through chick fil a and got the grilled chicken nuggets.
Good luck on your surgery!!
1-Mostly on Clear Liquids but I can have apple sauce and yogurt
2-thank you
3-by snacks I meant by the bariatric snacks
4-thank you
5-my nutritionist said my taste buds will never be the same because they change
6-ok and because my family have pizza night every other Friday
