  1. I basically wanted opinions an how others tolerate it

Then it would be a good idea to say that in your question, wouldn't it?

Speaking only for myself, the dealbreaker for me is the presence of sugar alcohols. My sleeve doesn't have a problem with them but my gut sure does. I've lost my taste for sweets, anyhow, so seeking out sugar-free, lactose free ice cream isn't on my radar.

I mean I did say can we? And ahhhh ok thank you

  2. You mean a lactose free one?

If the info in your profile is correct, you're three months out. Your sleeve should be tolerating a lot of different foods by now.

The question is, if you "can" have something, should you?

We don't know anything about your surgeon's postop instructions - whether you have Protein, calorie, or carb targets and/or restrictions. We don't know what foods are craving triggers for you.

So honestly, this is a question you have to ask yourself, and be prepared to ask for the rest of your life: Is this choice on my plan? Will my sleeve tolerate it? How will I feel after I make this choice? Will it get me closer to my goal(s)?

Then you make your choice based on that, not what a bunch of strangers on the internet say. We aren't the food police.

I basically wanted opinions an how others tolerate it

I have 35 g of this at a time, which is about 1/2 a serving. I measure my serving, and put the rest in the freeze. I mean even if you snarfed the whole pint the calories and Protein are better than a lot of things WLS patients eat.

It can be hard to find though, you need a high end grocery store. And it is $5.49-5.99 a pint. A pint lasts me 2 weeks to a month.

If ice cream is your weakness then don't try this, it tastes just like ice cream. I don't really like ice cream, and I use use this to add some moisture to my Protein brownies some of the time. The lemon, strawberry, and vanilla are delicious.

    How about lactose ice cream?

  4. Questions

1- Can we use unsweetened natural cocoa powder just for a little hint of flavor when we bake stuff? (Example-Protein balls)

2-Can we use a Protein powder called mts?

    1 -- Yes.

2 -- I don't know. What does the label say? Is it within the guidelines given to you by your NUT? What is the protein to carb ratio?

post-284659-14644595638873_thumb.jpg this is the nutrition facts on one of them, they have many different flavors

  5. 2 months out and wondering if I can have coconut flour or oat flour? instead of taken in regular flour since it's much healthier. I'm asking because I been making Protein Bars which is very healthy and I wanted to make Protein muffins, only thing is, it's asking for coconut flour or baking soda, I wanna make sure I don't ever take in baking soda, baking powder and regular flour ever again

  6. when my weight loss has slowed way down, I get very hungry right before I loose a good bit. it's kind of weird. but it works. and I second that what matters is that you are eating quality food not junk. my surgery was also in February.

I been away from junk food, fried food, any type of bread! Everything they said to stay away from! I'm eating really healthy

  7. Nope...

    It's good...

If you're doing more exercise, you're burning more calories...

If you're burning more calories, you need to eat more...

You've just gotta make sure that what you're eating is a) not s**t, and B) not calorically more than you're burning...

When you get to this point, it's no longer JUST about calories in vs calories out..

This is where the macros come into it...

It may we worth talking to a professional and getting some information that is specific to your needs...

The last thing you want when you're doing extra exercise is for your body to go into 'starvation mode'...

    That s**t sux balls!!!

    Good luck...

Let us know how you get on...

Ok because I thought it was bad since I'm only like a month and two weeks out, and I have met someone who said it was bad

I don't like when the 'b' and the ')' get together and create a B)

It makes my post look like a smug little thing...

    It's not...

    Wait what?

  8. For me the biggest difference is the increase in energy. I actually am driving my wife crazy doing all the things I was too lazy to do before. Maybe lazy is the wrong word... too damn FAT to do. Also am down from a button popping 52 jeans to size 46 falling off my ass. I am down 80 lbs since my pre-op diet the day after Thanksgiving, 50 since surgery on Dec 28. I don't have to have the steering wheel all the way up to fit in the car, my legs don't almost bust the armrests off the office chair, and I didn't need the extender belt on the plane a few weeks ago! Leftovers? Hell, that's all I can eat usually- two or three bites of whatever we had the night before. One other side effect is that grocery shopping is BORING! Maybe I really was a food addict!

Don't worry, you'll start to see and feel the huge difference soon. So will everyone else, and when they tell you how much weight you have lost, it's almost better than sex.

Thank you for your personal experience! It really helps! An lol

Just keep going and trust it'll happen. No one noticed mine for 50lbs!!! All of a sudden your clothes will hang off and people won't recognize you and you'll be excited about your success.

Thank you! I will take a note on that!

  9. I took pictures but I just don't see it. I'm always scared to do measurements. My clothes I'm always wearing something baggy like sweats and a baggy sweater or bigger shirt I don't really own tight clothes. That's maybe why since I see myself all the time I just don't notice it

I would recommend grabbing something, maybe from the thrift store etc. that is the size you are now. Yes the dreaded try it on shopping experience. It is even ok if you get something snug. Take a pic of yourself in them, then put them away. Periodically, pull them out and try them on and retake the pic. Now I say thrift store because you do not want to go out and spend money on something that will be too big in a few months. And you are already going to have to get a new wardrobe.

I knew I was losing because of before and after pics, people told me, my face was slimming, I have a clavicle, thigh gap is starting to show, my shoes became lose, clothes too loose, etc.

    Best wishes

Only thing I have heard from 3 people is my face is slimming

  10. I get up, pee(hey, Water is heavy!), and then weigh myself on a digital scale every morning. The numbers don't lie. I also set little goals(9 lbs until xxx lost). The first place I really noticed loss was in my face. Then my baggy clothes got even baggier, my pants got longer(not as much ass to hold them up!)until I could fit into the next size down. Rinse and Repeat until goal is met. There will come a time, not too long from now, when you see someone you haven't seen in a while. They will do a double take, and maybe raise their eyebrows. Trust me, you will get a serious case of the grins! Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much!!!! This is very inspirational!

  11. Did you take "before" photos pre surgery? Compare them to photos now. Did you take measurements? How are your clothes fitting? It's hard to notice the little changes when we are looking at ourselves day in and day out, so use these to help measure your progress. Good luck!
