  1. hi folks, good to hear your voices!!

Well I too am a bit worried about 9 days then back to teach high school now.

I didn't have my computer at the hospital, and don't know to on my smart phone.

Well I'm exhausted and want to sleep, I just "ate" my first dinner and it was half an Atkins chocolate shake and it was "heavenly," now as came here in my room to sleep, I notice my black t-shirt is wet. It seems there is bloody drainage stuff (sorry.ugh), but I cant be sure where it's coming from. I looked at the post-op info sheet and it says to "report to them" any fever, swelling, redness, bleeding or would drainage so I just called left message to call me with the night service. I feel fine but this makes me a bit concerned

So I'm waiting for a call from my surgeon's partner, the on call guy tonight. I'd hate to drive back up there tonight.

    I'll keep you posted

Hope everything works out. Keep us posted. And remember take it one step at a time. After a few days you will start feeling so much better.

  2. Hi all. My VG surgery was on Feb 10 (just an extra 0)! I'm 2 days postop and really want to go home. I'm at McGee Womens Hospital. It's cold, smells like a hospital and is very noisy. I'm trying to drink 60cc of water/half hour. It's hard & I have to ask for Zofran & reglan around the clock so I may have to stay an extra day. Did anyone out there have this problem too?

I did. I was in the hospital 4 days because of nausea vomit and couldn't keep anything down. But it gets easier. Take it one step at a time. There is light at the end of the tunnel. ☺️

  3. How much Protein Shakes are ya getting in. I can only do 1 a day so far.

I Only get 1 down. 1/2 on the morning and 1/2 at dinner and i add ice to it and put it in the ninja... takes away the extra sweet taste and thins it out so it goes down better.

This morning I added 1/3 of a banana... I am horribly potassium deficient and the pills are killing me with this new tummy because they are so big. I cut them in 1/2 and they are still challenging.

Do you not crush your pills? That's what my doctor told me to do is better than swallowing. I'm glad I'm not the only one that is only drinking one a day lol.
I'm not supposed to crush the potassium ... not sure why. I take room other pills and they are capsules so they go down easy. I take a blood pressure pill and it can be broken but not crushed or chewed.
Ooo ok. Well I'm sure things will get easier. ☺️

  5. Ah ok, well congrats!

Wow, I was rather sedentary before, so I know regular exercising is going to be a goal for me!

I was reading exercise expectations, 3 months out of WLS. HA! I am a gamer and artist, I paint. The only time I moved was to go to dog park with my rescue or clean up after dog and myself and husband. Grocery shop etc, laundry. I mean, all that stuff adds up but it's not like I was doing timed cardio or anything.

Wow, this is going to be a challenge, but then I might get hooked! Who knows!

You can do it. ☺️. Baby steps but you will get there.

  6. I am 100 lbs lighter than I was pre op 15 months ago. I weigh less than I did when I was 20.....I'm now 57. I wear a size 32w, a small or medium shirt. I used to wear 44w and extra larges. I have more energy, more positive thoughts and am no longer a slave to food. Iam able to eat most foods but not too much of any one thing. This is who I am now! Thank god for my family practice doc and his referral to my weight loss doc Paul Enoch. My diabetes is gone and I am healthy once again......this is who I am!

    Way to go

  7. Of course you're not alone--not with all of us rooting for you! I have always been an advocate of a good cry. I think it is good for body and soul. We cry at weddings, when a baby is born, when our children graduate and of course at times when we are in pain--mentally or physically.

I believe that crying cleanses the body and the spirit. My grandmother used to say that her eyes were "leaking".

Go ahead and give it all you got, girlfriend. I bet you'll feel better.

Feel better and let us know how you're doing!

    Thank you. ☺️
