  1. Does anyone know of anywhere in alabama, preferably in the montgomer/birmingham area that does this testing? I am interested in doing a hydrostatic measurement of my body fat percentage. Thanks in advance for any help!
  2. I had surgery Feb 5th with Dr C. I absolutely adore him, He has been fantastic and very supportive. I've lost 62lbs since then. I just went in last week for a fill, and now have a total of 2cc's in my 4cc band. I would recommend him for anyone. his entire staff is great, and I had no complaints about carraway medical, which is where my surgery was as well.
  3. I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless it doesn't come back off. I was banded in Feb of this year. I've lost 62lbs so far, and I've noticed that each month at "that time of the month" I tend to gain about 3-5lbs temporarily( maybe 3 or 4 days) and then it goes right away plus some. I figure it's just normal fluctuation with hormones and water retention. It's probably done that my entire life, but I'm much more judicious about weighing myself now.
  4. I was banded on February 5th, 2008. Pre Op surgery weight- 354lb. Current weight- 309lb. It's been interesting so far. I haven't had any problems with any food, other than one time- I tried to eat grilled grouper a little too fast and it got "hung". Extremely painful for about a minute. Nothing I want to ever repeat again. Other than that, I seem to be doing well. I still have over a 100 to loose, I'm aiming for goal weight of around 175-180. Anyone else out there still in good spirits? What kind of weight loss have you experienced so far? any tips for how to avoid cravings?
  5. I had my seminar in july and surgery in Feb, however my wait was due to insurance approval and me getting my part of the money due. When did/are you have your surgery? If you've already had it, how are you doing? I had mine on Feb 5th, i've lost right at 38 lbs. so i'm really excited.
  6. Tabby29- were you banded by dr cottingham? It sounds like you're doing great as well- I lost most of mine the first 2 weeks(23lbs) and the other 12 since then. I had a fill of 1cc on march 10th, and I go back April 8th and should get another 1cc fill. Have you had any problems eating or found anything you can't eat? So far I haven't, but i also get hungry after about 3 hours. Good luck with yours!
  7. I had mine done with Dr Cottingham from birmingham surgical at brookwood medical . He is amazing. Super nice, great bedside manner, great surgeon as far as i'm concerned. I was banded on Feb 6th and I've lost 35lbs so far. I would definitely recommend him.
  8. I had this problem about 2 weeks after my surgery. It lasted about 2 days. My upper outside left thigh was a bit numb. I didn't really have any pain though. I talked to my dr and he said as long as it went away within a couple of days, it should be fine. Sure enough, it went away and I haven't had any problems since then.
  9. my banding is tomorrow- and I'm actually just now getting nervous. I'm mostly excited. Luckily I have a great support system that is here for me.
