  1. I CAN NOT believe it has been over 3 months from my surgery. Anyone who is thinking about getting this surgery, or in the beginning stages....STAY POSITIVE! I suffer from severe anxiety and this journey has been awful. Days after my surgery I was so depressed about my choice. I wanted to go back to my surgeon and have him put my stomach back in. I was having anxiety attack after panic attack daily. I was so depressed that I took such a drastic step and cut my stomach out!!! But...looking back. I wouldn't change my decision for the world. I haven't been this happy in YEARS. I had a series of traumatic events happen which left me at my low point and I was addicted to food. Yes...addicted. People think it's a joke...but it happens. I no longer use food as a coping mechanism. I don't revolve my life around food. I don't eat so much that I can't get up. It feels amazing to have energy to do things. So here is some hope to anyone in the beginning stages....it gets better. I'm loving my "new" life :)

  2. I know it's hard not to be able to do what your friends are doing but think about it this way...would you rather be over weight and eating what they are? In time you can do those things. Trust me, I used to go out regularly and I haven't went out in 3 months. It's tough when my friends call me to go out and I have to decline. But I would rather be healthy and take this time to get happy and lose weight. Just think of the end result and how much better you will feel about yourself

  3. So I think I pulled another muscle. I'm almost 2 weeks post op and feel so fragile. After 3 weeks I pulled a muscle in my stomach. A few weeks after that I pulled a muscle in my back. Now I feel like I pulled a muscle in my side. One was from lifting too much and this new one I think was from exercising. I mean I'm assuming it's a pulled muscle. I have a pain in my left side. Ugh...anyone else?!

  4. Hello fellow sleevers. So yesterday my stomach was bothering me for the majority of the day. Then my lower back started hurting VERY bad. It was hard to sleep because of the pain. I drank some milk of magnesia and went a few times but today it still hurts. Has this happened to anybody? I'm hoping the pain goes away. I'm usually a frequent "goer" and am now going days without. So hopefully that's it. Help! Thanks!

  5. Hi fellow sleevers! I am 5 weeks post op and am starting to feel exhausted. After 2 weeks I had

Tonnnnsss of energy. Today I was beyond exhausted. I go to my one month follow up tomorrow and am going to ask about coffee. I was told to stop because caffeine causes dehydration. Has anyone else experienced the same?

  6. Well I'm starting week 5 and the purée phase was my last phase. The surgeons list says I can have bread, rice, Pasta, crackers. The last two weeks were scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes. Idk if maybe I didn't mention how far post op I was. I have my one month follow up next week so maybe I should ask? I'm going to stay safe this week and not go too crazy. But I was pretty excited about rice

  7. So I've been noticing that everyone has a different food diet that they are on. I was wondering if everyone wouldn't mind sharing the stages they went through. Mine was:

    Week 1-clear liquid

    Week 2-full liquids

    Week 3 + 4- puréed foods

    Week 5- soft foods

Then I could start introducing more foods slowly at week 6. I can't have coffee. My surgeon says that it dehydrates you, and the goal is Water water water lol. I'm just curious to see what others have been doing! (Ps next Wednesday is soft foods, yum!)

  8. I am 20 days pre op and talked to my doctor about it. He said it's very normal. He recommended Melatonin. He said its natural and helps your body regulate your sleep schedule. I took it last night and it sort of worked. Better than the night before! Another dr also recommended Benadryl

  9. Thanks everyone! I just called my doctor to see what he thinks. I'm hoping it goes away. I hate feeling like I'm "in a fog" all the time. I'm also hoping maybe exercise will help. I get cleared to go to the gym on the 20th and think maybe exercising will lower my anxiety. It's so great to have this support group. I remember when I first started this journey and my doctors told me about support groups and I thought...I don't need a silly support group. But it's truly helped me through every step of the way! We are all in this together :)

  10. Hi fellow sleevers!

I am currently on day 19 post op and feel good. My main issue is anxiety. I suffered from anxiety for years prior to the surgery, but it seems to have got worse since the surgery. I think some of it stems from fear of something going randomly wrong during my recovery. I keep telling myself that everything is ok and if anything was going to go wrong, it would have already. Did anybody else experience the same thing??
