    Fill Question/Concern

he just probably wasn't in the middle of your port good. It went through because you're restricted, so I wouldn't be concerned. It was probably his positioning of the needle when he was drawing back.

    pain in my right side

I have worked in the hospital for 12 years. I ws banded in Mexico 4 months ago and have my fills done 2 hours away. In answer to your question about the pain in rt side- the answer is YES, I have had it. It is always worse after a fill. Several of my friends and co-workers are banded also and they all have it on and off. It will subside, take maalox and or milk of magnesia. You can also take aleve. Now in answer to your question about the emergency room and him having to see you the answer is NO. Unless they did testing and you required a procedure that was imminent he will not see you. Have you called the doc that does your fills and seen what his advice is? Hope you get to feeling better and this helps.

    Help! Need advice on banding!

They do the bloodwork, EKG, etc once you get there and you have to fill out a questionnare online before they will approve you to come. They have wonderful communication and the doctor calls you himself to answer all your questions before you go. There are doctors everywhere here in the states to do your fills afterwards.

    Help! Need advice on banding!

I had my banding done in Tijuana, Mexico Feb. 01, 2008. I went to Bajanor hospital -Dr. Carlos Alessandrini. The website---www.bajanor.com--- has several financing companies from the U.S. that she can apply through. The total cost is 7,800.00. This includes your surgery, testing, airfare, hotel stay, transportation and everything. I had a great experience and have several friends and co-workers who went there and have done great! Let me kow if I can help with more info.
  5. I would just like to say from working in the hospital for 12 years that doctors are human just like us. In the U.S. or Mexico, there are gonna be imperfections in their work. It's reality. They are not robots. People's bodies react differently to things. There are very specific guidelines to follow about your diet after banding. How many of you have overeaten and vomitted? I know I have. That in itself can cause slippage and or erosion. We are not perfect, just as they are not. Please evaluate the whole situation, because banding is a long difficult process. It has not been easy for me at all. Mentally, emotionally or physically, but I have a goal and am still working towards it. Things worth having you have to work for. No one ever said lapbanding was a quick easy fix to weight loss. There are risks and complications that can occur. In the small town I live in in Texas, 12 of us have gone to Tijuana betwenn two different doctors and only one has had serious complications with removal of her band after 6 months. The same doctor at Bajanor did hers that did the rest of ours and we are all great. That's just the way the ball bouces, just like when you get your tubes tied or a vasectomy-it's not 100%. Life's really a game of chances, and making general statements about Mexico surgery is really a little out of bounds. I love my surgeon and thank God for him everyday. Thank God I had the option of the cheaper surgery or I wouldn't have been able to do it.It's been 4 months and I am down 30 pounds!!! I would go back to Bajanor again if I had it to do ALL OVER! There are good and bad in the U.S and Mexico.LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES!!!
  6. Hey. I was banded 02/01/08 in Mexico. I just joined this group to communicate with others in my world of banding. I also live in Texas and looked at your photos. You look fabulous! My stomach will never look like that no matter what I do. Is that without any cosmetic surgery? Let me in on what all I need to do to meet others in the group.Thanks-Jessica Stephens

  7. Hey. Iwas banded 02/02/08. I just joined this forum to talk to others close to my level in the banding world. I have lost 27 lbs and live in Texas. I don't know what to do next to get to know everyone. Any advice? I invited a few people to be my friend. Let me know -Thanks-Jessica

  8. Hey-I was banded 2/1/08 in Mexico. I am new to this and trying to talk with other people who were banded in Feb also. I joined the group, but haven't added a picture with my username yet. What all goes on to get started meeting everyone? Thanks -Jessica

  9. I had my band done Feb. 1, 2008 in Tijuana and I can so relate to how you are feeling. I was so scared, but yet so excited. Now 3 months later and 30 lbs lighter I have no regrets. The research of people that die during lapband surgery shows you are at a VERY low risk of not coming back home to your kids. You'll be fine! This is a very low risk surgery and most post-op complications are mild. Just do all the things your Dr. instructs you to afterward and it will lessen your chances of problems. I hope you do great, and I will keep you in my thoughts, cause word for word reading your blog is just how I felt. GO FOR IT, It's worth it!GOOD LUCK!!

My doctor is putting on phentermine

It works, I have used it a few times and always lost. It gives me dry mouth and sleeplessness. It wires you up and you don't want to eat. After a while it loses its effectiveness. Everytime I stopped taking it though, I gained it back. The largest dose they will prescribe is 37.5 mg, but alot of docs start off woth 30mgs.Let me know how it goes.
  11. I used Bajanor Hospital in Tijuana-Dr. Carlos Alessandrini-have had no problems. Had surgery Feb. 2008.Lost 25 lbs already!
  12. What has happened since then? I am having the same thing now.

  13. I used Dr. Carlos Alessandrini at Bajanor Hospital in Tijuana. There have been about 10 of us go from our small East Texas town. Only one person has had problems. The price, staff are great. The only thing to consider is when you have it done in Mexico, you don't get hardly any pain medicine for coming home. They give you a very small bottle of weak pain medicine, might as well take tylenol. Here in the state I have heard several people say they got liquid darvecet, etc. Will make a big difference when you are hurting after surgery.
