  1. CHRISTINE!! That is just wonderful news! I'm happy it turned out so well....upward and onward!
  2. Just got the call from the hospital....I have to be there at 6am....:ohmy: It's about a 45 minute drive, so that's going to make for an early morning....but I'll be glad to get in and just get going! Yes, it's an early in and go home the same day for me! Hubby and daughter are going with me....can't wait to see the look on my teenager's face when I tell her the time....... Getting excited!
  3. Good thoughts for the Monday Shamrocks.....certainly an especially lucky day for SK and Rhonda! *Gentle* hugs coming your way! Looking forward to hearing about the successful surgeries!
  4. You can get Isopure at GNC, but unjury has to be ordered through their website. Good luck with your cardio appointment.......you'll still me a shamrock to us, no matter what!
  5. That's very sweet! I appreciate it! I'm same day in and out, so the only thing I'm really taking is a pillow for my tummy on the ride home and my iPod.....I do much better if I can listen to music, so I'll be popping it on as soon as possible!
  6. My gyn did tell me that there is a link between breast cysts and caffeine.....so I'm hoping that my dropping caffeine for the surgery will help my boobies. I, too, have had a lot of problems with breast cysts.
  7. NO...and I'm sooooooo dang proud of myself! I've been tempted a few times and thought "a little bite won't hurt"....and then realized that that is the kind of thinking that got me where I am! I'm self pay and I just don't want to do anything that may jeopardize my success....even if it is a remote chance..... It has given me such a sense of empowerment and has really firmed my belief that I CAN do this! Yesterday was BRUTAL.....it's donut day at work.....dozens of glazed, chocolate, fritters, all manner of lovely pastries...and pots and pots of coffee.....but I felt so good walking away from them!
  8. HAHAHA....thanks for the contact info!
  9. Holy cow....I dreamed last night that I ate some chicken enchiladas and rice....only a few bites, but I woke up in a PANIC thinking they wouldn't do my surgery now.....then I couldn't go back to sleep........UGH. Today is the day to tidy the house, get the laundry done, go shopping for the things I'll need post-op..... Monday I have to work and then have a MASSAGE scheduled for after work....thought it would be a good way to relax the night before surgery.... ....then Tuesday.....off we go! Can't believe this is really happening! I'm down seven pounds since Tuesday!
  10. Molly, My sincere condolences on the lost of your Mommy. I, too, lost my Mom to that horrible disease. It was the beginning of a terrible pattern of depression and bad eating for me, too..... I am going to be banded on Tuesday.....and THIS IS THE YEAR that things will change......for both of us....for all of us!
  11. Sounds like you've thought it all through, Fenton! If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.....so good for you! It would really hard to be in the food biz.......but you certainly have the resolve to deal with it!
  12. I went in to the GNC at our local mall intending on buying some Isopure....I've NEVER stepped foot in that store, so had no idea where it was. I asked the young man at the counter where it was and he pointed it out. I still couldn't find it, so he came over and showed me. He asked who it was for and I said, "Me". He got the most incredulous look on his face and said "YOU use isopure?" I was pizzed off so I just walked out of the store......I thought maybe I had misunderstood him....but my sixteen year old daughter piped up immediately and said, "Well, that was RUDE..." Anyway......I do know that I'll never step foot in another GNC!
  13. I really like the unjury Protein drinks......I'm on day five of liquids....two more to go for me! I have to say that althought I've been kind of hungry (although not nearly as bad as I anticipated).....it has given me this incredible sense of empowerment.... Today is donut day at work.....we're talking six dozen, bakery fresh, assorted donut....usually I would eat at least two....NOT TODAY....and it made me feel WONDERFUL! This is a necessary step in the process and I am *trying* to embrace it! It will be long time before I get excited about Jello again, though~
  14. I'm on the 18th as well.....I was delighted that it is a "9" day...and now even moreso! 9 has always been a significant number for me, so it just felt like good karma! Good Luck to US!
  15. YES, YES, YES!! I can't believe the DLD guy didn't burst out laughing when I told him my imaginery weight.......God forbid they ever put in scales at the DLD!
  16. Day FOUR of liquid goo phase...... [rant] Well, today is the first day I've really felt "hungry"......and mean as a snake. I'm feeling deprived and a little sad. Just had a mini blow out with the hubster because he made a simple comment that that pantry needed to be cleaned out....which of course, it does.....but hey, let's go in to over-reaction mode and just start throwing things out of the pantry (me, not him)....yes, I am a three year old inside a very large adult body. After a few minutes of embarassment we started laughing and cleaned out the friggin' pantry. So, that's done and we're fine.......he understands and is no stranger to my occasional irrational outbursts (we've been married 23 years). Sigh, I keep telling myself that I'm HALF WAY THERE.....at least to my surgery date.....I know part of it is nerves, part is hunger, part is just feeling a little out of step with the universe because my eating habits have been disturbed....it has, however, made me VERY aware of how much mindless eating I've done IN THE PAST....as I still open the pantry 20 times a day looking for something.....IN THE PAST, each time I would have grabbed a handful of crackers, a granola bar, a pudding cup, or SOMETHING.....but this is a good time to break that habit......perhaps one of those timed locks like they put on the vault at 7-11?????????????? NO......just changing the damn mindset.....hard, hard, hard.....but DOABLE! OKEY DOKEY........ [/end rant]
  17. Got it, Andi! Your doggies are so adorable! I've got some pics of my terrors up on my page, too! I will probably add a blog or something to my page at some point.....
  18. Congrats on your surgery! Glad they were able to fix the hernia.....ouch, though! I don't envy you being at work, glad you're able to leave a little early. Thinking good thoughts to get you through the rest of the day!
  19. Way to go, Tom! I've got three days left on my liquid goo phase before surgery, so you're an inspiration......way to gut it out!
  20. Mine is: myspace.com/parrotheadpaige :angry_smile::thumbup::cursing:
  21. (Glad to see I'm not the only one with a MIL that makes snide comments) I'm looking forward to: 1. Bending over to tie my shoes, comfortably! 2. Less (hopefully, NO) joint pain 3. A new set of leathers for riding that do not require the entire hide of a cow to produce! 4. NOT averting my eyes any time I walk past a mirror 5. Wearing the actual clothes that I sell at the Harley shop! 6. Less chins! 7. NOT spending $100 a month on medications 8. Going shopping with my daughter and not having to head straight for the "womens" section.. 9. More energy 10. Eating to LIVE rather than living to EAT!
  22. My first mini goal is get through the pre op liquid goo phase! I have scheduled a massage for the night before my surgery in anticipation of my success :biggrin2::biggrin2: Getting under 2 bills is my first post op mini goal.....that's 30 pounds! I haven't decided on a reward....but I'm leaning towards NEW SHOES!
  23. Sorry to hear about the problems with your ticker, Christine! I'm glad the doc was so thorough and ordered the tests, though..... Here's hoping it's a fairly easy fix with medication and no setbacks for your band surgery.....there's so much they can do in cardiac medicine now, it's amazing! It's a wake up call for all of us......we really have been putting a lot of pressure on our hearts.....I know I thank mine everyday for putting up with me!
  24. You're mourning......as I think most of us have or will. Our relationship with food is what got us here.....and now that relationship has to change. It's almost like a divorce......a food divorce. Let yourself mourn and go through what ever you're feeling. Once the weight really starts dropping and your new, more beautiful body starts to emerge, your energy levels start climbing, whatever medical problems you may have related to the weight start to subside.....you will realize that it was a toxic relationship with food and changing it was a good thing! You're in my thoughts......and I'll expect a similar pep talk in a few weeks when I hit the wall! XOXO
