  1. I feel the same way.....I know it's not logical....and I can talk myself down, but I just keep wishing it would just fall off in chunks! We'll get there..... one step, one pound, some days one ounce at a time!
  2. First fill today.....total non-event.....I fretted over it all day and it was truly nothing! Doc says I'm right on track and doing great. I've been frustrated because the numbers haven't changed for 10 days......but they will. Back on liquids for 24 hours and mushies for 24 hours....no biggie. My doc also said that if I'm not feeling the restriction I can come back in next week for MORE.....hoping this does the trick for a while though!
  3. Dr. Rachel Hobbs at the Tanner Clinic in Layton is very pro-lap band and super to work with on approvals. Dr. Richards at SL Regional is my doc and I LOVE her, she's great. Good program, good support.....I'm very happy so far!
  4. Well, back and filled....well, not filled....but at least there is something there! We shall see how that goes..... Total non-event.....two second stinging when the anesthetic went in and then didn't feel a thing..... Doctor was pleased with my weight loss so far.....so I am. I complained about the scales jumping up and down for the last week and a half....she said, "that's why you're here. We'll take care of it." I do have an appointment next week with the dietician and she said if I'm not feeling any restriction to call before I come up and she'll give me another fill.....so on the road again!
  5. Heading out the door here shortly to head to Salt Lake for my FIRST FILL! I'll check in later and let you know how it went!
  6. Interview with the psychologist and then took a 100 question test...never heard anything about it after the day I went in, so I guess it was okay. Nothing to worry about.....
  7. I was scheduled fairly quickly.....I went to the informational meeting on February 7th and had my surgery on March 18th....I did have to call one time to let them know I had the money, was very serious, and just wanted to get on with it....once I did that, everything went quickly and smoothly. I've been happy so far......they are there if you need them.
  8. Gotta love Sunday morning......no pressure, no expectations....just the newspaper and a 'good' cup of decaf! I did get on the scales today against my better judgement....and alas, no change....but instead of being pissed off, I decided to embrace that fact that I'm down and staying down.....six weeks out, 28 pounds down....can't complain about that. Going over to a friend's house today for a barbecue.....it will be a bit of a challenge and I am anticipating some self-pity as I watch everyone drink their cold beers......but it will be folks I haven't seen in the last 28 pounds, so that will be nice as well! Six inches smalled, Fenton? That's GOT to feel so good...... Sorry to hear about the sore hips....maybe just waking up some body parts that haven't been moved much in a while. I know my shoulders were terribly sore after my arm work out the other day.....gotta kill that damn flying squirrel! Lisa, so glad to hear you're going to be okay with the pupster......I adore my doggies and can't imagine live without them! I am looking forward to my adjustment next week, too.....hoping that kills, or at least silences, whatever is living in my belly....sure is a noisy beast! Have a great Sunday!
  9. I went to his partner, Dr. Richards. I have been very happy with my experience with their clinic. Everyone speaks very, very highly of Dr. Cottam, I just had an immediate connection with Dr. Richards and felt really good about her....I would have felt comfortable with either surgeon.
  10. I wore an underwire home from the hospital. My incisions were in places that it didn't/doesn't bother at all....
  11. PERFECT...... I'm already thinking about my next one..... I love tattoos...
  12. YAY! Scheduled for a fill next Wednesday! I'm happy.....not happy about driving home from SLC during rush hour, but it will be worth it!
  13. A "non-scale victory"....something that is related to weight loss or healthy living, but not tied directly to the #*$&%@ numbers on the scale!
  14. CONGRATS! Happy Buckling!
  15. Thanks for the reality check, Fenton...... I did email the doc about a fill, we'll see from there. I'm taking the battery out of my scale today......not going to put it back in until next Friday....
  16. Any of you go to Sturgis? We go every year and I have to say that I'm a little concerned this year. It's next to impossible to get decent food......it's like eating at the carnival for a week.....we camp out, so no hotel room with a refrigerator for food.... and of course, not really possible to drag along an ice chest..... and then there's the alcohol consumption.....that's a whole 'nuther issue. Just wondering if anyone survived Sturgis post band?
  17. Just need to whine a little....feeling very frustrated....the stinking scale is going up a pound, down a half pound.....up two pounds....down a pound....just all over the place, but no loss at all this week..... I know that I've done well and I'm very happy about it, but it's frustrating. I'm feeling hungry and it's getting harder and harder to stay on track. So far, I've managed......always under 1000 cals, usually closer to 800....keeping carbs between 50-80 with Protein between 60-100....fat has been quite low. I've been doing moderate exercise every day......not olympic training, but moving, a little resistance work...... Guess maybe it's getting closer to time for an adjustment.....but I'm just feeling a litte pissy today....and getting closer to that familiar old feeling of "Eff it, if I'm not going to lose, I might as well eat..... BLECH........I hate this.
  18. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow, Marilyn! I'm sure it will be a breeze and you'll be with the band! Best of Luck!
  19. I lost my Mom in 2004 as well........I know what a wonderful feeling that must have been! I'm very happy for you.....I'll bet that ring looked positively stunning on your slender finger! Your Mom was smiling, I'm sure!
  20. I honestly don't know if I feel restriction or of it's psychological....but as long as it's working....who cares? I am feeling hungrier lately......I do feel full sooner, but not as soon as I did at first......I'm thinking I'll send in my paperwork for a fill at the end of next week.
  21. Thanks for the reminder.....I've been thinking about Peanut Butter toast all morning.....your cautionary tale was perfect timing!
  22. That made me smile BIG! I'll bet you look like a beautiful Spring day!
  23. No super powers that I have discovered yet :biggrin2:....but I do think the B complex helps with energy....I've always taken Vit E and I think it helps my skin......
  24. I'm bored.....tired of a single scrambled egg....tired of a small serving of Cereal....blech.... Give me some Breakfast ideas.....both quick for work mornings and what ever for weekends!
  25. It's on the inside of my right forearm.......I really don't know exactly what I'm rewarding for.....just for doing this and coming this far. I guess it's more of an incentive than a reward.....a visual reminder to stay on course. I look at it with every spoonful of food! I laughed thinking of you in your sports bra straight jacket....hope the search went okay!
