  1. I had my surgery at Des Peres hospital in St. Louis. I think most of my pain at first was because my upper stomach was so irritated from my prolapse. It'll be one week tomorrow & I'm not feeling any pain. I've got a question I'm showing I start full liquids tomorrow & I get blended soups does anyone know what that is& can I have tomato soup?
  2. I had my band to sleeve revision on Tuesday, and I've got to say it was a lot more pain this time around. It was also my 1st experience with a catheter and a drainage tube. Not fun taking those out. The 1st 36 hours were rough but I'm feeling a lot better today. I've had a shake & a couple of Popsicles. My Dr. says it will get better as time goes on, I've got an appointment with him next week.
  3. Starting my pre-op tomorrow & getting my revision on Tuesday. A little nervous but my Dr. seems confident everything will go OK.
  4. I'm having surgery Tuesday of next week & my nurse told me today I need to take chewable multi vitamins & iron & to avoid Flintstones & gummies. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  5. I'm getting my band removed & sleeve surgery on May 14.
  6. Just got notice from my insc. co. that my surgery date will be May 14 at 10a. I had a lapband surgery in 2007 & lost about 75 lbs. after 14 fills, then my band prolapsed & I gained about 45 lbs back. After a lot of stomach pain & gurd I had an endoscopy & my doc said I prolapsed so I decided to go with the sleeve this time. I feel good about my decision but a bit nervous since it's going to be a much longer surgery.
  7. Missy, What kind of drain are You talking about?
  8. Why were you in intensive care so long Missy?
  9. My band has prolapsed & I'm waiting for insurance approval. Was wondering how many incisions are needed to remove the band & do the sleeve, Also h ow many weeks are we on clear liquids after sleeve surgery, the band was 2 weeks for me.
  10. My band has prolapsed & I've applied for approval to convert to sleeve. Does anyone know how much Medicare Complete by united health care would pay provided I'm approved? I live in Missouri if that matters.
  11. My band has prolasped & currently waiting for insurance approval for a band to sleeve conversion, my Dr. says he can do this in one surgery but I see here where some Dr.s have empied the band first. My doc hasn't mentioed this. Should I be concerned?
  12. Sorry Jessica, must have accidently hit Caps Lock.
  13. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAD LEAK TEST DONE ON DAY OF SURGERY WAS THIS DONE AFTER YOU WOKE UP? aND HOW MANY WEEKS AFTER SURGERY ARE YOU ABLE TO WORK OUT AT THE GYM?
  14. Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was banded in April of 2008 & after 14 fills I lost 75 lbs. I got to where I was able to eat more & more & I started gaining weight back. It was like I didn't even have weight loss surgery cause I was following the same pattern I did before the band. Recently I started having stomach pains & gerd. When I finally went to my Dr. he had an endoscopy done & found I had prolasped & my esophigus was inflamed so he did a biopsy. My wife & I met with him on Monday & he said the biopsy came back OK but we needed to select one of the 4 options he had for me. 1. He could empty the band & allow the stomah to go back in place & bigin fills again, 2. Remove the band & return to original stomach, 3.replace the band, 4. remove the band & revise to a sleeve or gastric bypass. We all agreed that the gastric sleeve would be the best option. I need to get another phyc. eval. & apply for approval from my insc. again. I'm feeling good about this because after this surgery I don't have to keep going back for fills & worrying about prolapsing again. This is where I'm at right now.
  15. I had an endoscopy 2 days ago & my Dr. told my wife while I was still out I've prolapsed & my esophogus is irretaded & that he sent off a biopsy. I have an appointment on Monday with him to disguss my options. If the band has to come out I'm thinking strongly about having the sleeve done if I can.
  16. I was banded April 2008 & I've been haveing alot of reflux at night & throwing up at meals. I had an endoscopic & uper GI done today & my Dr. told my wife I had prolapsed & esophogus inflamed while I was still under & to call & make an appointment next week to disguss our options. If the band has to come out I'm thinking strongly about the sleeve.
  17. I agree I had my gal bladder removed about a year after my banding & your pain sounds very similar to what I had. I'm also having a scope tomorrow to see if I've prolasped. Good luck.
  18. We have insurance which covered most of the cost but I guess I assumed that an in office fill would be included in the Dr,s visit.
  19. My wife's doctor gave her a fill in the Dr's office & charged for the office visit plus $900.00 for the fill. Does this seem normal to anyone?
  20. Ready, What is the ilap?
  21. I haven't been able to bring up the chat room for quite some time now.Does anyone know what's going on with it.
  22. Congrads ChaCha. My wife also in onederland & she's very excited.
  23. Today my wife weighed in at 199 lbs for the first time in about 25 years. This makes her weight loss at 85 lbs since her banding in Dec. 2008. Along with this is my weight loss of 75 lbs giving us both a second chance for a healthier & longer life. We both have a way to go but together we will do it.
  24. Why are you debanding if I may ask?
  25. Do you know if you have to refill a little at a time or will they restore it to it's original capacity?
