  1. I was banded on October 25th and I'm wondering what is the best kind of exercize. Can a person who is obese and flabby actually firm up? Will exercizing keep your metabolism up especially when your in the clear liquid stage?

    I'm so excited!

Hi, I was banded by Dr. Boutt in Port Huron, wonderful doctor and great staff at the office. I read your other post about BCBS. The girls in the office faxed a check list to my primary doctor and I was approved in three days. Good luck, this was the best thing I've done for myself!

    Exercising??

What kind of exercise does everyone do? How do you try to tone up all this flab? :faint: This is how I feel when I try anything that those skinny people demonstrate! Is there hope for us severely out of shape people, I know exercise is the key to keep the weght coming off, but I just can't do all that jumping around. I'd appreciate any suggestions:help:

    Getting Banded Set. 7th....yeeeaaahhhh

It took about a week and a half for the pain to go away in that area. I spent many nights sleeping in my recliner because it was easier not to use my stomach muscles. But other then that I have not had any problems, I'm now in the mushy food stage , which is great! I had to go to the doctor to have him check out my incision area because I thought it looked infected (not) and I was already down 14 lbs. It such a wonderful feeling!! So I hope everything goes well with your recovery. Just think we all have finally made a positive decision about our health!!! Take care

    Clear liquid phase...

I was banded on October 25th and already sick of the clear liquid phase. The thought of getting up in the morning and having broth or jello is nauseating! How did everyone else get thru this phase?

    I'm kind of upset.

I was banded on Oct, 25th in Michigan and I have BCBS. They did cover the surgery but the criteria was pretty rigid. Don't give up hope!

    Clear liquid phase...

I see we were banded just a day apart and I have to admit I caved too! I had some Cream of rice, boy did it taste great! I actually ended up go back in to the doctor on Tuesday, thought my incisions looked infected, but everything was ok. I did get to weigh in, down 14 pounds;-) I told the doc that I was having a hard time with the clear liquids, he said to try and make it as far as I could, but starting the next phase could start a little early. I've never been a soup lover, but boy it sure does taste good now! Thanks for the support

    Clear liquid phase...

Thanks for all the support! I will definately try the Isopure, but I find myself going for hours with nothing but just water, I have not had any hunger pains at all, how weird!! I can't beleive how wonderful this web site is, I thought I'd have no one to talk with if I had a problem, but everyone has been so helpful. Again THANKS

    I'm Back!!!!!!

I also was banded on the 25th. Everything you said is true, I still get up in the middle of the night to sleep in the recliner, but the pain around the port site is getting better. I did have to visit the doctor yesterday because I thought my incisions looked infected but everything was all right, I did get to weigh myself-one week 14 pounds, WOW! I do know thats probably water weight I lost, but it does make me feel good. I luckly only have to stay on the clear liqids only two weeks, I really don't think I'd make for three. I almost gag at the thought of broth and jello, but keep plugging away. I'll remember your name and watch your progress. I think we all have made a positive move towards a healthier future!!!! Good luck:)

    Seminar In Port Huron

I was banded on October 25th in Port Huron Hospital by Dr. Boutt. I went to two seminars before I actually decided to follow thru with it. Dr. Boutt and the staff at the LBC are very caring and understanding, they will answer any questions that come up. I agree, it is the best way to go, I feel there will be no more failure on my part and I can finally succeed. Good luck in your decision!

Is there anyone in MI out there?

Hi, I'm from Fort Gratiot. I was banded on October 25th in Port Huron Hospital. I must say I'm feeling great, but I am already sick of the clear liquids. In the morning the thought of broth or jello makes me want to gag. It took me three years to decide this was the best solution for me and I'm feeling really positive about my decision.
