  1. I will never ever every put on 1kg because I have no idea how to use that measurement. I will also never put on 1 stone.

    Chicken broth

The whole idea of it grossed me out, I'd never had it before--I now prefer beef broth. Don't get the cheap brand, I don't see a problem cooking with the cheap brand, but if it's your nutrution for the day, the taste really matters. get the good stuff!
  3. short answer is no, not everyone throws up.

I do like the way you think:smile:

    Conservative Fill Philosophy?

Mine isn't as conservative as the other mention in this thread, but the PA is fairly conservative. Weight loss has been slow-but I've not gotten stuck, thrown up or felt sick at all. ever. I'll take that over faster weight loss any day.
  6. If it's under the fluro, it looks intimidating, but once you are there, it's no big deal and I could actually watch the Fluid going down, took my mind off the large needle in my abdomen. It's not even as bad as any of the pricks they gave you in the hospital. It's really a pain going back on liquids for a few days afterwards! that was the part I really don't like:smile: You'll be fine. I guess my thought is, the numbing agent is out there, why not offer it. It would be nice to at least have it offered at my doctor's office.
  7. It's not offered but it would be nice. It does go pretty fast though. I used to numb myself before I had to do intramuscular shots to myself. Makes it a lot easier.

    fizzy pop

I found Irn Bru at the grocery store today, a treat that I cannot pass up. I'm going to let it de-carbonate a bit before I drink some. I was banded in Jan of this year.

    I dont get it

I think that is a general statement, everyone is going to lose at their own pace. I have heard that if you start out larger, you should lose at a faster pace in the beginning. I'm sure someone will contradict me, but thats my understanding.
  10. I am far from perfect--I think I need an apostrophe in my thread title but I'm not going to go back & do it. Some spelling/grammar/usage is so bad that I simply cannot understand the post. I'm not talking there, they're, their issues, I have no idea what you are trying to say issues. Not a rant, just an observation I fully expect this thread to fall and go away very quickly.

    Ghetto

people on here bruise easier then a hot house tomato. grow a pair. This is aimed at everyone.
  12. Thats all pretty fast from the beginning to the date of the surgery--you don't know what all you don't know! I can suggest reading, reading and reading some more. Take a lot of what you read on here with a grain of salt. Everyones diet, surgery stories, placement of the port, pre diet, post diet, exercise regime---everything is different for everyone depending on what your surgeon wants you to do. I really do mean everything. You can sort out a lot of the basics just because you will read the same thing three dozen times, over and over and over again. See if the surgeons office or the hospital he practices from has a meeting schedule where you can go to a few after surgery meetings and you can ask a professional question or get some more handouts from them. PS--they hate it when you use the work Fuck on here oh wait I just used the word Fuck on here damn there I go again!
  13. I posted my hint and everyone thought it was gross. My surgeon had a specimen cup sitting out at our first interview. A specimen cup is just about 4oz in volume. Mixing the ideas of a specimen cup and eating might be gross--but you can see in your head the volume of a specimen cup now, can't you. I thought it was a very good visual.
  14. Try to get in to see the surgeon/PA on Monday. Different companies treat sick leave differently--try to take all the time at once, don't go back Monday and then take the rest of the week off---try to get a note from the surgeon on Monday so you can relax and heal for as long as you need without worrying about going back too soon. I took a full week off and was very very beat my first week back, I also have a desk job.

    Can I have unprotected sex?

On the oral sex thread----there is a protein involved.......but is it a slider???

    Can I have unprotected sex?

I'm 43, banded in January, married 13 years and my husband had a vasectomy Can I have unprotected sex?
  20. My surgeon did it after the surgery to make sure the band was positioned properly. As with every part of thise procedure--your doctor may do something different. But at least you're prepared if you do have to have it done again.
  21. I had a barium swallow after leaving the recovery room and before I actually got to my room after surgery miserable. The woman taking the x-rays had no patience and was no help in getting me off the gurney or onto the table. I was having "this isn't so bad after all" thoughts in the recovery room--that changed as soon as I had to do that swallow. The taste didn't bother me too much
  22. Lying down is horizontal unless you are standing while sleeping!! silly:smile:

    Family Issues

Tough Love sux You could try to, as tactfully as you can, tell them that you can eat anything you want. That you've had great progress with the choices you've made so far and that, although you will make some bad choices, sometimes you need a small treat to keep you sane. I am not tactful and would not be so nice--be glad we're not related!
  25. I like that you dont refer to that person as a friend!
