Jello shots would work... as long as it is Sugar-free Jello:heh: -
I think she should play P'nut. That girl from "facts of life" (the dark-haired one, I think it was Jo) can play Tricia K. Katt can be played by... Meryl Streep. I can be played by Dom Deluise, or the Dad from "Rosanne". maybe King of Queens. Who will play you in your movie?

How long before bed or what time do you stop eating?
"Just" Paul replied to stefunny's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I try to have nothing in my stomach at least 3 hours before bed, otherwise gravity cannot help it move through the stoma. Also, I've been told that if you eat too soon before sleeping that you will wake up tighter in the AM, and have trouble eating Breakfast (which is why many bandsters resort to shakes in the AM). Maybe that's true, or not, but I am always able to eat my oatmeal in the AM. -
OK, these stories are too amazing. This will need to be a new series, not just a movie. one episode for each great story. Now the question is, who getts to play you in the film? I guess this shows why we are all so motivated to make this happen.

Trisha, P'nut, You guys are killing me here. It like some kind of Lifetime channel movie of the week. Touching and incredible. Amazing stuff, you've both done well. Now, which one of you gets to be played by Meredith Baxter Birney?

These are great stories!

What has been your "Wow" moment since you started your weight loss journey?

When I lay on my back I can actually see my ribs. wasn't sure I had them, now I'm sure! -
Inamed ... How many fills?
"Just" Paul replied to antivicky's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've had 4 fills, but my sweet spot has gone away as I lost weight (remember you lose fat on the inside too, around you stomach). Over time, and as you lose, it will likely loosen again. Stay with it, and be adamant to your doc about what you need. P -
That's true!! Eating out is SOOOOO much cheaper now! Usually my wife gets a meal, and I just take a little off her plate. if I get my won meal, then I get something that I can plan on eating for lunch for the next 3 days or so.

My doc recommends waiting 6 months AFTER reaching goal. He says to give the skin a chance, and also says to allow for time for your body to "adjust" it's shape to the weight it lost. Course that's just him.

How do you handle sweet cravings?
"Just" Paul replied to MonaLisa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sugar-free jello pudding cups. Only 60 calories, and very satisfying. -
Sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Gone for Good Club - July 2006
"Just" Paul replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It varies from doc to doc (although there should be a single standard) Mine did 2 weeks pure liquids, the 2 thicker liquids, then 2 mushies, then gradually working back into solid foods. I've heard of some docs having folks back on solids within a week. As long as you follow your docs orders, and follow up with them, then the program will work. Yeah, there should be a single standard set forth by Inamed. Is there one they recommend the docs use? -

I get loaded cheap now. probably between having a lot less body fat, and the band itself. Means it is a lot cheaper to go out and put one on! I gotta agree, don't drink till you're gonna puke, that would be bad, but otherwise... have a good time. -
For those already banded, do you count calories?
"Just" Paul replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Damn straight. The band only restricts volume of food, not the quality of it. Calorie counting is Automatically part of any healthy weight-loss program. -

As long as you follow your docs instructions, you'll do great. -
My god... that would have hurt. Surely, he could have another surgeon do it!

Who does your fills? (What type of health care professional)
"Just" Paul replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The PA in my surgeon's office does all the fills. He's great! -
What has been your "Wow" moment since you started your weight loss journey?

When I first went to try on pants at a regular store. I picked out the bigger size (not a big men's size, mind you) and they were too big! I was buying clothes for a regular person! -
Basically, at 371 I had reached the elastic limit of skin. One more bag of chips and KABOOM:boom: I read about the band on the web, went to talk to a local doc, got denied by my insurance, borrowed the money, had the procedure in November, and since then I FEEL GREAT. Back to what I weighed in High School 22 years ago!
-
Anyone else notice how much cheaper regular stores are? At the big men's shop, a pair of levis were $85... I just got a pair at Target for under $20. Plus the selection is a lot better!

liquids go right through the band. I'd stay away from carbonated beverages... they don't hurt the band but can give you uncomfortable gas. I've gotten looped since I got my band. Don't do it a lot (lots of calories in booze) but why not? -
If it feels OK, and you can eat as prescribed, then it is a good fill. Differnt levels for diff folks. P

You REALLY need to have your doc tell you SPECIFICALLY what to eat, and when you can make changes tio diet. If he hasn't given you that info, then you need to insist that he does. This is all about a plan, and he needs to provide you with one. P
