  1. Thank all of you guys for your reply. Sorry for not responding sooner but I believe I broke my stall as of today I lost all I gained and then some and I'm now 196.8. So about 1.6 pounds down from my lowest which I'm super happy about. I believe my problem was the amount of salt I was eating and drinking Protein Shakes. A typical day for me would be a Protein Shake that would go right threw me a leave me hungry so then I'd have a salty snack or lil crunchies. Then in the middle of the day I'd have a Protein Bar and then once I was home I'd have a lean cuisine or healthy choice that had a massive amount of sodium. I was so concerned about how many calories I was eating I negcted the other nutritional aspects of my meals. I am now eating only real foods that I make myself and I see a huge difference in my weight and hydration. Also I do not snack anymore because I feel full on real food. My only problem now is because I avoid sodium filled fake food my calorie intake has gotten way low. I'm going to work on that though. Thanks again guys.

  2. I am extremely disappointed and disheartened by my failure so far. At first everything was great and I went from 220 to 198.4 in 3 weeks. After week 3 however I stalled which I understand is just part of the process. But during week 4 I am steady gaining weight and went from 198.4 to 203.2 on a diet of 700 calories. It should be practically impossible to be gaining weight on that few calories but somehow I'm doing it. I'm so mad that I was in onderland for so little time but now I'm back in the 200s slowly getting back where I started. I truly regret this surgery because all the sickness and discomfort it causes me is for nothing.

  3. I'm only 12 days out, but I can tell you it gets better everyday. By day 8 I felt normal. Have a great journey!

  4. Honestly it must be so hard to moderate a forum. I've seen both sides of the story, One of the first post I've seen was someone attacking a person for trying to cheer them up by saying "oh don't be down" and then rants about how fat people are allowed to be sad too. I've also seen generally "abrasive" vets on the forum who clearly have a bit of a superiority issue. Unfortunately when you have a forum on the internet these people clash and there's not much that @@Alex Brecher can do besides try to keep them peace on both sides and I think that he's doing a pretty good job with that without being biased towards anyone.

  5. @@loca_lette813 it's best to call you specific insurance provider and coordinator for that information as all people are different however for me my insurance would deny me if I gained weight (net) AND my surgeon would deny me as well even if my insurance approved. However if your surgeon and coordinator didn't make it clear that you cannot gain weight you may be ok. Good luck.

  6. From my experience insurance reps over the phone are extremely untrained in what's needed for each individual plan and that is very frustrating. I'm surprised that your surgical coordinator didn't find out exactly what you needed in the first place. Regardless of that the time will go faster than you think and with a bmi of 50 I doubt you'll be denied once you qualify. Good luck

  7. and if someone wants to ask about something that you deem as "common sense" you can just scroll right past the post and ignore it !!(imagine that LOL)not start an entire post about how "stupid" someones question is GEEZE and sorry but bullies come in all shapes sizes and AGES. so YES adults are some of the worst bullies out there not just children!! like I said before this is supposed to be a support group for people that are just out of or contemplating surgery and myself being new here, am not seeing a lot of support going on but a lot of judgement.

That's exactly what I do, I've never commented on a persons post that I thought they were asking a silly question because I don't want/have too, I leave that to the veterans on the forum who may have better input. But I am totally allowed to respond to the person on this post who I agree with. Never have i bullied anyone here but just as I don't comment on people's post I don't agree with neither should you. And it's the Internet your sometimes gonna here stuff you don't want to hear and if your gonna take it to heart and feel bullied by people who you disagree with then that's on you.

  8. I really don't know why people come here asking if they can eat silly things when they just got out of surgery and I'm pretty sure they got a pamphlet of information stating what they can and can not eat after surgery. Why come on a forum to ask opinions of people who you don't know if you won't even listen to your freaking doctors lol

Not everyone's doctor sends them home with a robust list of acceptable foods. If everyone is suppose to just eat what their doctor says, seems senseless to have a nutrition section on this forum.
I think there's a difference between seeking nutritional guidance and asking if you can eat things that are common sense. Most people have to do nutritional classes to even qualify for the surgery in the first place as well as an orientation. I find it hard to believe that a surgeon just sends you off on your way and doesn't give you any indication that you shouldn't go back to eating normal food especially a week or two after surgery. And even if they didn't You could look in the nutritional part of the forum and figure that out yourself rather than looking for assurance that it's ok to go off track so early but like I said to each there own and at the end of the day we all have our own idea of success on this surgery :)
