    My Doctor Is Moving Away:(

Oh what a bummer. I would be heart broken if I lost my surgeon. Hopefully his replacement gets better at finding your port.

    Band Slippage

I had to have my gallbladder out 6 months after banding. Horrible pain. Nausea, sweating, and pain. Lots of pain. It would come and go. No rhyme or reason. Didn't seem to matter what I ate or drank. I would have your gallbladder checked out. Good luck!
  3. I am stoked! My insurance actually approved my hiatial hernia surgery and band re-positioning!!! I was told initially that the band re-positioning portion of the surgery would NOT be covered because it would be considered bariatric and my employer has an opt out clause. I was so frustrated by this since my band had to be re-positioned to fix my hiatal hernia. This surgery is about fixing my hernia... NOT a bariatric surgery. So frustrating. Surgery was going to cost me $4700, which I couldn't afford, so I had decided I would have my band removed. Well I got a surprise call yesterday that my insurance is covering the WHOLE surgery. YAY! I am pretty excited to be getting another chance. I scheduled my surgery ASAP (before my insurance can change their mind... haha). My surgery is in 2 weeks. My surgeon is very optimistic that this will resolve a lot of issues I have been having. I just want the esophagitis to be GONE. I am soooo sick of the heartburn and reflux. I am crossing my fingers that this will also resolve my inconsistent restriction. I am still in disbelief.

Lap Band, My Future And Possible Issues

Wow. I am sorry. But that is borderline out of line. Every relationship is different. Just because she is not sexually active on a regular basis does not automatically mean she is cheating. And to suggest he needs a DNA test on his son. Harsh. To the OP. My husband and I have been married for 11 years and we are working on rekindling our romance. It has been up and down. Sometimes we have long lulls. We both have confidence issues, I won't go into it here, but I do want you to know that you are not alone. Maybe counseling will help? It helped us. Also, it is hard to "start over". Once you get in a rut, it is hard to get out. I saw a program on TV where couples committed to having sex everyday for a week to jump start their sex life. Maybe you guys could try something like that? Good luck. Communication is key. You guys need to have an open dialogue.
  5. Congrats!! That is wonderful!

    Please help me, I'm MISERABLE!

I hope that helps Dan. Please keep us updated!! It must feel better to not be so restricted so you can heal.
  9. My original surgeon said he would fix one if he found one. I really don't know for sure if it was there at the time, but I suspect it was. Either that or like Jean mentioned, it was small and went unnoticed and has gotten larger over time. My surgical consult is this morning for the hiatal hernia. Looking forward to getting some answers. I have a different surgeon now.
  10. Measure your food intake and stop when the portion is gone. Then gauge how long you are staying satiated. I have the same issue with inconsistent restriction. Somedays I am tighter than others. That is normal. Your stomach is a moving living organ. Make sure the food you are eating is dense Protein and not slider food. That will also make a difference in restriction feeling. If you are at the point that .2cc makes a big difference, you are probably close to your green zone, or are in it. Measure, eat slow, stop and pay attention. No liquids when eating!

    You Are What You Eat!!!!

I recently had that change in my thinking as well. I am no less happy right now than I was a month ago when I was eating crap. In fact I am happier since I am making good choices and losing weight. Once I realized that... I have absolutely no desire to eat poorly or cheat. Getting on board mentally is really such a huge accomplishment!!
  12. Definitely call your doctor. ASAP. It may also be the signs of a slip. Hope everything it ok.

    How Many Slips?

I am 4.5 years out and I have not had a slip or erosion. I do have a hiatal hernia that I have a surgery consult for today. I think it was pre-existing though. The only "complication" I have had was a leak in my port that required a port replacement. I had the port replaced under local at my Dr's office last year. I also had gallbladder surgery about 6 months post op. That is normal with weight loss. I will be honest. Sometimes during my journey I have really hated my band. Right now I love it. As long as I follow the band rules and really work with it, it is good. When I let head hunger win and I work around the band, that is when I am miserable. Just realize the head work is a HUGE part of the process!!
  16. Mine was not. I had my first fill about a month afterwards.
