    [8/26/08]

5th day in and I'm feeling pretty great! Had school again today, wasn't too bad other than the fact that my school has major construction going on and parking is sparse. Some would say the walking is a great thing, but not having anything to eat except some Crystal Light and being in 100 degrees Texas heat, it pretty much killed me. My stomach was much better today, but my legs hurt like a SOB! All in all the progress I've made has been great, I just wish my energy level was a little higher. Now, on to my daily food intake: 48oz of water with Crystal Light 2 Sugar-free vanilla pudding cups (I'm addicted!) 1 Chocolate protien shake 2 Scrambled eggs (but I didn't eat them all since I felt full after a few bites) Hope everyone's journey is going just as great as mine!

    First blog [8/24/08]!

Annecolorgreen- My energy level has been somewhat normal, I think a lot of the grogginess has something to do with the pain meds. As far as the gas goes, I'm taking GasX Strips which seem to help pretty well!

Angcal26 -Sleeping has been pretty easy, of course I have my pain medication to help me. I've been up a couple of times, but overall it wasn't too bad.

    [08.25.08]

So today is my 4th day after my surgery and also the first day of school. Of course they had those tiny grade-school desks, it wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't so sore. That was the only downfall. So here's my food intake for the day: 1 16oz chocolate protein shake (2 scoops). 1 packet of sugar-free cinnamon apple oatmeal with splenda. About 36oz of water (some with Crystal Light) And that's about it, I'm not as hungry as I thought I'd be!:tongue2:

    First blog [8/24/08]!

My first blog of many to come. I was banded 8/21/08 and am so excited to be fully recovered and to lose weight! I've decided to track my daily intake so I can look back if I ever need to. I'm still on my first 5 days of clear liquids so this will be a small list. Half a bottle of Vitamin Water about 4oz. 1 can of chicken broth. 1 cup of sugar-free vanilla pudding. I'm still having a hard time telling the difference between being hungry or gassy.:confused2: Hopefully this all subsides with time.

    Hi All!

Hey there Joy! Good luck on your journey, this is definitely a great place to be for questions and support.

    Seeking others like me....

Hey there JMH, I too am 5'1" and right around 200lbs. I was banded on the 21st and have lost about 10-15lbs from the pre-op until now. For being as heavy as I am, I was lucky not to have any other co-morbidities except for mild sleep apnea. I can honestly say that this has been one of the best choices I've ever made and would not change anything. I didn't have any problems with insurance approving me and though I've only been banded for a few days, I still feel like there's been a huge change. I don't know about the True Results doctors, but I can say that the Scott & White Bariatric program was utterly amazing. Good luck to you on your journey, it may be a long proccess but it's well worth it!

Excited... surgery in a few days.

Hey there, congrats on your band. I just had my done on the 21st and I must say it's a challenge, but well worth it! You asked about the ticker here's the website where I got mine from. Weight Loss - Diet Ticker One more piece of advice that I'm sure you already know, but still I had it stressed to me over and over again... As soon as you can WALK, WALK, WALK. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
  15. Hello everyone, I was banded 3 days ago on the 21st. I've had what I'm assuming is the normal pains related to the gas and port area. I'm a little confused since reading this, some people have talked about Gas X strips? Should I look into those and do they help? I've been drinking Crystal Light, Fruit Punch, and unsweetened tea, along with Water of course. Is there anything else I might be able to try? I also have some questions about excess skin. Is it likely that I will have skin left over from the weight loss or does it all depend on the person? Anyone's feedback will be greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone and good luck!
