Yeah... I have OA and PsA. And I thought the sulfasalazine wasn't helping much. But I had to stop it before surgery, so I've been off of it a week, and I was wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. And apparently pain is something that drives me to eat worse than being depressed or after a breakup. And I start my pre-op diet on Wed. This is going to suck in a very bad way.

I thought the same about my Cymbalta. ---until I had to stop taking it for thee days. That's when I realized just how much it does help my Fibro! I am having skin surgery Aug. 9th and this time I am being allowed to take it the morning of my surgery. Whew! I know that the feeling of reaching for an Irish Coffee and tea biscuits to ease my pain. Can't (won't) do that any more. Even if I have to take a half of a Percocet, I will take it rather than eat my pain away. Some folks can't understand. It's my world and I have to live it. I'm here and I'm listening, my friend. Pain is physically and mentally debilitating .

I have chronic pain as well and understand what you are going through. I had to go off all meds prior to hip replacement surgery and was bedridden for the two weeks I couldn't take my anti-inflammatories. I have no words of advice..but just know that we are here with you and you are not alone in this.
