  1. @@The New Kel - I too had headaches this week so I think that's normal. I get nausea when I try new foods but haven't thrown up yet - thankfully! I have had no trouble meeting Fluid and Protein goals, so I've added some yogurt, SF pudding, homemade applesauce and had some verrrrry soft, mushy egg salad last night. It's not glamorous but it's nice to use a spoon again!

Congrats on your weight loss - thanks fantastic! I lost 10 lbs during pre-op and 11 since surgery, so I'm at 21 lbs total but have been stalled for the last two days. All in all I'm still pretty happy!

Best of luck and keep up the good work!

  2. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup mix may be an option for you... I don't like it much, but many people here seem to. At least it's not so sweet! I also add GENEPRO to unsweetened iced tea because I can't stand the excessive sweetness of all the shakes either!

  3. @@Thecloude1 are you still losing weight? Could the irritability be associated with a hormone surge before / during a period of weight or fat loss? I'm only 9 days post-op but have been a raging crazy and slightly emotionally unstable person - hopefully related to hormone fluctuations. Being peri-menopausal and going off meds could also be contributing. Congrats on no longer needing your BP meds, though!! What a huge, positive step for your health! Best of luck!

  4. I am 9 days post-op from VSG and definitely struggling with the lack of energy and itchy incisions. It's not at all fun but it is very normal! Two days ago I could barely get out of bed, yesterday was better - we will see what today brings. Are you getting all of your Vitamins in? I'm thinking of upping my B12 in the hopes that it will help with energy. I went back to work on day 6 post-op ... it's not easy but it's doable! Hang in there - I'm sure things will start looking up soon!

  5. I am 8 days post-Op and was just recommended to try ZipFizz. They sell at on Amazon and at costco. In addition to electrolytes, it also has B12 which should help with energy when calories are low post-op. Otherwise I have been watering down G2 and Vitamin Water zero or drinking unsweetened iced tea. As @@DavidOso said, you will need to consume fluids like it is your job - so find what works to make that happen. Best of luck!

  6. I completely understand @@LykaCory ... my surgery was 9/29 and yesterday I felt like I'd been hit by a train. I could barely get out of bed, I was crabby, one of my incisions is killing me and I'm sick of not eating and sick of feeling sick. Today was a little better - hopefully tomorrow will be better for you! What is on your diet? I am on full liquids but think that I'm struggling in part because my calories are still so low. Hang in there - tomorrow is a new day!!

  7. @@Kiba - one thing to consider as you experiment with your diet - you mentioned that GENEPRO is your main Protein source. I've done some digging on GENEPRO and I'm concerned that they may be overstating the amount of Protein in their product. If this is true, you may actually be far under your protein goals. It might be worth mixing it up with different protein sources to see if this helps your loss.

See here for some more discussion on GenePro:

  8. I'm 5 days post-op and feel like I have the worst PMS ever (and it's not my time of the month...). I cried like 3 times today over things that were totally inconsequential and then picked a stupid fight with my husband who has been nothing but supportive and wonderful. Right now I feel bad for anyone who has to be around me. Is this typical? Have others experienced this or am I just going crazy?
