  1. Hi Soccer Mom! It's nice to meet someone so close to me who is getting banded! We live 14 miles south of Beatrice near Odell. Have you checked into Dr. Taddeucci for the procedure? He's in the same office as Dr. Hung and I love, love, love him! Best of luck to you and feel free to contact me for anything! My email address is jcolgrove@dishmail.net.

  2. Billie, I had the same experience when I had my psych evaluation...got denied. I wonder if we went to the same person? Anyway, I found a counselor here in Beatrice that I've been seeing and she seems a little confused as to why the first psychologist recommended that I not have surgery. She wrote a letter of recommendation for me and I was banded by Dr. Taddeuci in Lincoln on 03/05/08. I'm glad I did it!

  3. Wow! I guess I didn't pay much attention to this thread but there are a lot of Nebraska banders on here! I live about 14 miles south of Beatrice. I was banded on 03-05-08 by Dr. Taddeucci in Lincoln and have lost about 34 lbs so far. I'm so glad I did it! It's nice to meet all of you local people!

  4. Kristin, I was banded 03/05/08 by Dr. Taddeucci at Surgical Associates in Lincoln. Fills cost $150 for fluoro and like you said, $75-100 in the office. It sounds like that's pretty common across the board from what I've heard. Good luck with everything!

  5. Good for you Altman! For the pureed food, i would try normal foods, just pureed. chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes goes down really well. That way you can get some variety in your diet. It becomes boring really quickly. Good luck!

Also, Dr.'s Taddeucci and Hung at Surgical Associates in Lincoln are working to become certified as a "center of excellence" as well.

  6. Hi Kim! What are the requirements of the liquid diet? I had to have 2 shakes per day and one sensible meal. I don't have much good advice to pass along, other than keeping your ultimate goal in mind. It's only 2 weeks and you're doing it so that you can have surgery. It will help prepare you better for life after banding. It's nice to meet you and I wish you the best of luck! If you have any questions be sure to ask and feel free to visit the chat room...lots of banders happy to help out!

  7. I've had 2 fills now and got light headed during both of them. They occur after the fill and after I've drank some barium. We're within 30 seconds of finishing the procedure and I have to lie down. I get a rushing in my ears, vision becomes grainy, and I feel hot. After lying down for a couple of minutes I'm fine. I don't know why this is because mentally I'm not worried about the fills and they barely hurt at all! I think my mind just plays tricks with my body because it knows that the needle is a mile long! It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one that this happens to. My doc said that a lot of people either don't tell him that they are getting light headed or don't have enough time to warn him because they just pass out. At least I have some warning.

  8. Hey everyone! I hope someone can answer this question accurately for me. I was banded one month ago. At my 2 week post op i asked the nurse what size of band i had she just looked at the chart and said "you have an AP Standard". I figured that was a 10 cc band. When I got my first fill today I asked the doctor how many cc's he would give me and he said 3 or 4, you have a 14 cc band. I know that Mondays for him are fill days and he sometimes has 15-20 people get fills in one day...do you think he was confusing me with someone else? I mean, my chart says AP Standard...what size is that exactly? I did get 4 cc's in my fill today...thanks for the help!

  9. Good morning! How are you all? I've been lurking for a while and decided that I should probably introduce myself. I live near Beatrice and was banded 3 weeks ago by Dr. Taddeucci in Lincoln. I am doing great and am excited about what the future holds. I look forward to meeting you all! Good luck!
