  1. Hello, Can anyone help me with a fill doctor in or near Brooklyn New York??? I had my surgery in Mexico. I am thinking of using Fill center USA but I wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions. I appreciate any help.
  2. HELP, I was baned on Nov 26th . I do not feel like I have lost any weight. I have not had a fill yet. Need to make time in the next couple weeks to get one. I was wondering if anyone has a book or something with a diet I can follow specifically for Lap Band patients. I am very busy with my job and work long hours. I heard that you need to eat around 800 calories but I don't know what that is and would love a diet to follow for awhile until I get the hang of it. In addition, right now I really don't have time to sit down and figure out my food. It has been suggested that I do lean cuisine, but I would like a healthy diet that does not include processed food. I got the band so I would be healthy. I manage to walk about 1 hour per day. If I can get some of this weight off i feel I would be better able to handle the gym. i would like to start loosing weight now and not wait until I get my fills. Any diet or book suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

    Need A Diet To Follow

Thank you very much for your help.
  4. I went to Mexico and yes I was scared. But it was the right choice. Never had better care -- I have never experience this great a care in an American hospital. It cost 7,000 ALL INCLUSIVE. No extras for hosp, tests, anesthesiologist, ect. If you are up for a fight with your insurance company go to Gastric Bypass Surgery | Weight Loss Surgery | Obesity Surgery-Support you can get books and information on how to successfully fight and win the battle with your insurance company. I was just not willing to put in the time.
  5. I went to Mexico and was banded on Nov 26 07 By Dr.Daniel Huacus (pronounced Wah Couz)The entire thing cost me $7,000.00 He has a brand new clinic and everyone there is very professional. The hospital was very clean and sterile, and all the nurses were wonderful and took their time when then worked with you. I've never had this kind of good care in an American Hospital. Several doctors spoke with me before my surgery, explaining details and answering any questions that I had. I never felt they were trying to hurry. The doctor and the nurses came to my room to check on me all throughout the day and night. One night I was really feeling bad and started to cough which scared me. The nurse was at my side in a minute and I did not even call her. She heard me, and came right in to help. Dr. Huacuz Is not only very experienced -he is the most caring doctor I have ever met. He is always accessible if ever you needed him. If your worried about care when you return to the US. Dr. Huacuz can provide a list of Doctors that will help you. Also, you can use fill centers USA. I am just at the beginning of my journey so I cannot offer any help there but for the procedure itself, I wanted to give you my experience.
  6. Well Hello, I had to pay for my surgery myself. I looked high and low and finally decided to have it done in Mexico. I had worries but I am so happy I made that choice. I got better care there than I ever had in any American hospital ever!!! As far as post op. You can get it. How do you think people who move cities get it???? There is a Fill Center USA that provides doctors all across the country. Also you can just call Doctors in your area, many will take you. Also most fill are done by nurse practitioners. My surgery cost $7,000.00 inclusive of all tests, hospital, everything. Also, you can usually count on your family doctor to help as well. I was just banded Nov 26, 07 so I am just beginning my journey. I just wanted to let everyone know- if you need to pay for the surgery yourself - you can get the very best care in Mexico. Also, they have been doing the lap in Mexico much longer than in the US so many of the Doctors are very experienced.
