  2. Thanks to you both. But as I lay here reading these posts and listening to the news.....I am horrified and saddened over hearing about police officers being attacked in Dallas. Hard to worry about something like my weight when so many horrible things are going on in the world. ???? Rest easy my new friends. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am currently starting the process of , hopefully, getting a revision from sleeve to bypass. I had my sleeve in 2012. At my heaviest i was 365#. I was down to 248# and my life turned upside down. My husband and i separated and I moved out of state. No excuses....i failed my sleeve. Self esteem took a heck of a shot, i stopped exercising, and also was eating carbs because it was one thing i could keep down. I am back at 300#. Like you....I would try to eat a variety of Proteins....and end up in the bathroom with my head in a bucket. I STILL have that issue at least 4 or 5 times a week. And now my GERD is getting worse....even with the prescription meds I take for it. The insurance i had wouldnt cover a bariatric Dr in my area....they wanted me to return to the state where i had the surgery.....but my divorce was final in may and I got new insurance that will allow me to see a bariatric Dr here. One thing I am planning on doing differently is getting some therapy and having more support structure. I never addressed my food addiction....and being a chef, I obsess about food constantly. Im new to this site....so I am also interested in seeing replies to your post....and hope YOU will post throughout your journey as well. I wish you nothing but the best and look forward to hear more. ~Shell
  4. I've had weight problems and food issues all my life. I'm a chef....used to own a Bakery....my bf says I obsess about food. Therapy is one of the things I have requested through this round. I didn't have any the last time. They didn't even have a support group for wls patients in my area. I love that I found this site....finding lots of great info...and great people. I had no issues with my sleeve surgery. My Dr laughed at me because I refused pain meds stronger than Tylenol and I insisted on sleeping on my belly in the hospital! LOL....it's the only way I can sleep. The pain, for me, was along the lines of labor pain. I was able to breathe through it. Plus getting up and walking a LOT after surgery helped me pass the fluids and air in my belly....which reduces pain. My roommate in the hospital refused to get out of bed....said her pain was horrible. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  5. Good to hear your Sig other is trying. How about you....how have you felt emotionally with your changes? Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  6. What area are you in? I had my sleeve done at UPMC Horizon in Greenville PA back in 2012. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'd like that! I'm looking forward to having more support this time through. In 2012 I was in a miserable relationship so I just hid in the gym all the time. Sort of made it easy to lose weight. But being out and enjoying my new life has made it so hard. Plus, being away from my family was killing me inside. I wonder what the divorce rate is among bariatric patients? 8. Yeah, I found a surgeon in Akron. His office has already sent me paperwork, which I sent back today. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  9. The surgery worked...I was down over 100 pounds...but then had some huge changes in my life. Divorce, moved out of state, etc... Slowly I started putting the weight back on. Emotional eating, overeating, and not rating the right things. Now I have a great support structure and hope I can get back at it. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  10. I'm in NE Ohio now...but lived in Western PA when I had my sleeve surgery in 2012. Now I'm starting the process of looking into revision to bypass surgery in Akron. Sent from my XT1058 using the BariatricPal App
  11. Hi there! Im looking for people in the central to NE Ohio areas. I moved to Wooster ohio a couple years ago and am looking to meet up with people in the bariatric weight loss community. I had a gastric sleeve surgery back in 2012, had lost a little over 100# after surgery but have since regained much of that back. I am now looking into revision surgery to bypass at the Bariatric Care Center in Akron OH. Im pretty new to this site....so please be patient as Im still learning how this works. Feel free to friend me! ~Shell

I had a sleeve in 2012 and after losing 100# my husband and I separated, i moved out of state, and since then have gained back most of what I had lost. Now I have 2 really bad knees (Both have been replaced but one is falling apart) and bulging discs in my back. I HAVE to get this eating under control so I can be around for my granddaughters. I had to wait until my divorce was final and i got insurance....so now I have just sent off the paperwork to a Bariatric Center close to me. On a good note......this group has a wonderful support system....something that wasnt available at my last surgeons center.
