    Onederland

Interesting video but he should've used more visual clues.

    Food Before and After Photos

The oats are high protein because I add protein powder to them. The oats are just oats.

    Regrets?

This. Some people seem to expect getting that "hot bod" after surgery - like your skin looking practically normal and untouched.

    Butt cushion recommendations?

If it's your sit bones bothering you - get used to the pressure. I'd recommend long bike rides for this. (Only half kidding here.)
  5. With WLS being around since a whole while now and more and more people getting it I'd guess people asking questions will suspect WLS anyway. It's not a niche procedure anymore. Most people know that these procedures exist. A former colleague from another department lost a ton of weight after having been absent for maybe two or three weeks. People are suspecting WLS, even though they've not asked her directly. People are no fools. Most of them won't believe that story about "lifestyle changes" and "healthy diet and exercise" while conveniently not mentioning the surgery anyway. The easiest way is to say "I had surgery". People who're interested in the whole thing might want to know what kind of surgery it was but usually that's the end of it.

Hot protein oats with some almond butter, banana and dark chocolate.

    7 Months Out, Need Motivation

In general - do you like what you eat and do you like the workout you're doing?

    Regrets?

Depends on your age and history as with basically any surgery. I only had the standard stuff like ECG and the typical lab the day before surgery.

    Revision

This. At least most likely. I can remember when I got my revision (MGB to RNY) I asked if there would be changes in weight, i. e. I wanted to know if it would be more difficult to maintain the weight after revision or not. I doubt that the surgeon would have mentioned the weight thing if I hadn't specifically asked about it. For them it was fixing the reflux and repairing the hiatal hernia.

Barebells has vegan protein bars as well but the ones pictured aren't the vegan ones, or are they?

Some people swear that microwaving the bars for a few seconds is pretty good as well.

    What are your slider foods?

You will discover more with time. That you can be sure of.
  14. Portions increase with time up to a certain point - Dr. Weiner has an interesting video about increasing portions on YT after WLS with IMO the most important take away point being that it's normal. So many people on here are freaking out about being able to eat more after some time. I wonder why surgeons don't seem to educate their patients about being able to eat more with time.

That's dark chocolate, yes. Or I guess it's something we call "Kuvertüre", baking chocolate. Not sure about egg prices as I don't buy eggs. Many people complain about butter having become very expensive. Also cheese.

Green Mountain filets on a Mon Village Brötchen chili cheeze style. Marzipanschleife because I couldn't resist. Hadn't one of these in maybe over two years or so. They don't have them everyday, are often sold out already and in summer they don't sell them at all for whatever reason. Today I saw this one with a truckload of chocolate on it. I buy these kind of goodies not that often - prices have become ridiculous for baked goods in Germany and I'm simply not willing to pay this kind of money. Whole wheat and/or organic breads and rolls were always kind of expensive and the prices have only gone up slightly compared to the non-organic baked goods but things like cakes and pastries have become ridiculously expensive so this feels like a special treat. They're rather big though.

It took time to find the right recipe but I have figured it out for my taste.

Ah yes, when the thing you really want didn't find its way into the shopping cart yesterday because either you forgot or the item was sold out. 😫
  19. Ok, indeed never heard of that one. I sometimes read that when people post before/after pictures that there are comments like "OMG, you're glowing in the after picture!!" but I didn't know it was a specific slang term.
  20. Indeed. But that's life. I'm aware that a plan and following a plan are two different things. However, in the end you can't view them separately even though they are separate issues. Of course I wouldn't recommend anything else. And after all I'm just some random stranger on the interwebz as well. Plus possible legal issues and in general I'm not here to hand out medical advice.

    Food Before and After Photos

Some days almost nothing really seems to hit the spot. No idea why that is.
  22. Really? I always think of barium suspension as one of the better tasting oral contrast agents. There is the one that smells like licorice but tastes really nasty and one that's supposed to have a taste like oranges but is equally nasty. The worst I ever tasted was something that smelled like peppermint toothpaste. Dear mother of God... I always use i. v. contrast agents. They taste of almost nothing.
  23. That's a new one for me though. What do people mean when they say/write it? Something like thriving?
  24. In theory, yes. In practice people seem to have all kinds of problems following their plan. Otherwise they wouldn't want to deviate from it in the first place.
