  1. you can try adding sugar free syrups (like torani) or sugar free instant pudding powder (just a little) to help change up the flavor. if you can have caffeine (some plans are ok with it as long as you are drinking to plenty of Water, some plans have it as a no-no), you could try adding a little instant coffee powder if you like that flavor.

To get away from the idea of "shakes", you could mix some into some plain nonfat greek yogurt. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper or parchment and freeze for frozen Protein yogurt drops.

Or even try pouring a shake into popsicle molds and freezing and voila, Protein popsicle! Although I have seen where some people say they separate/settle as they freeze but other people don't seem to have this issue.

    Great ideas!!

  2. @@kmorri This is awesome! Congrats!! You have a great pre op plan. I had 1 lean protein/veggie meal a day and let me tell you, I couldn't wait to cook my dinner and eat! Good luck! Are you have a food Funeral this weekend?? :) I went to some of my favorite places to eat before I started mine.

I finally got my official date and it's 5/16/16!!! I'll be starting my pre-op diet on Monday May 2nd.....but thankfully I get to have food on my pre-op diet. I have one Protein Shake and two small low carb meals per day.....and then Clear Liquids 24 hours prior to surgery.

  3. PB2 is powder Peanut Butter. Healthier than regular. I only add a little to my Protein powder when I use it I the blender. Just for flavor.

I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk and PB2. Makes vanilla or chocolate taste amazing! Add some ice and put in blender.

Hi Fab! I don't want to seem stupid, but I'm new to this site and I have no idea what pb2 is. Can you help?

    Thanks,

    Cassie

What kind of Protein mix did you buy? have you looked up the mugcake threads yet?

What's a mugcake ? @@Stevehud I'm sorry I'm so new , I appreciate your help and time. I'm struggling with the shakes too.. My Nut says I can only have it mixed ONLY with Water ... I'm dying .. Help !!

I bought Isopure zero carb in the Cookies and Cream flavor.I also don't know what "mugcake" means. Thanks for helping us newbies!

  4. I'm May 2nd too! I'm getting really excited and nervous and excited ;) I should treat myself to a pedicure too! It would probably relax me a bit. This is my first surgery under general anesthesia. I'm never to sure how I will be, but I had c-section and this surgery is less evasive...so I'm hoping recovery will be easier! How are you doing on the pre-op diet?

I'm doing better than I thought. Being able to have the lean Protein and veggies meal has helped so much. I look forward to cooking dinner. Been chewing food really well and not drinking while eating to practice for after surgery. Good luck to you! How are you doing?

  5. May Sleeves here I come !

May 2nd is soooo close! Just had my pre admission testing done. Now just counting down the days. Clear Liquids day before. Treating myself to a pedicure and getting my nails done French (I have acrylic nails need to be clear color) maybe even get a facial! How's everyone doing? Anyone else having surgery on the 2nd? Am I the first loser of the May group?

  6. @@moni5855 I am doing good. I have 2 Protein Shakes and 1 meal with lean Protein and veggies per day. I was very hungry the first day and had a headache. Actually went to bed early so I wouldn't be tempted to eat. Yesterday was better. I wasn't as hungry and no headache. I am being more mindful of how I chew my food and waiting a half hour before I eat and half hour after I eat to drink Water. It is not an easy task since I am used to drinking while eating. How about you? Did you start? What's your plan?
