@@CaitlinT, I'm able to get the recommended Protein down but it is a constant struggle all day. Yesterday I didn't get the 64 oz of Fluid about 40oz. I'm just not hungry!
I made the mastake of getting on the scale the smorning :-D
I exactly understand why the tell you not to get on the scale after surgery. I weighed more then before surgery :'(
Wondering when you begin to see a # change?
I understand its a process guess I'm just looking for a plus while I struggle through this liquid phase
    Good luck

Glad the warm liquids are helping you guys out. I was able to get 55g of Protein and 66 oz of fluids today. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

My surgery date is also July 18th. I don't have to do a liquid diet but I have to try to consume less than 40 g of carbs a day. I'm so excited. Wishing you both the best and looking forward to reading your updates. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was having trouble with my liquids too! I had surgery on 7/7 and have been afraid to over do it, however my doctor told me that if I warm them up instead of trying to drink them cold it would help and it has a great deal. I'm supposed to start on protein tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes down.

Got home this afternoon on post op day 2. Took a hot shower, feeling much better. My doctor gives out these handy cards to record Fluid intake, pain, nausea, walking, incentive spirometers etc,so I'm trying to religiously log everything.

Are you on pain meds? I suspect my continued use of pain medication is helping me take down liquids. Other than that I don't have any advice for you I'm sorry. I'm really not having any issue taking continued small sips so I consider myself lucky. I might even hit 64 oz of fluids today if I keep going.
I will say that I feel worse everytime I wake up from sleeping/napping in terms of gas. Laying down seems to make the gas settle in. I just came in from an almost hour long walk around the neighborhood so I guess I am doing pretty well.

I'm day 2 post op and let me tell you, I feel amazing compared to the day of surgery and day after. My gas is moving on down like it should and that buys me a lot of comfort. I just finished drinking 8 oz of water in about a 30 minute span. I'm having trouble with full liquids but I'm gonna try my hand at it again. I've lost 7 lbs since surgery. And my bmi was just under 35 the day of surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I feel so much better on day #4 my right side is still sore and feels the worse but I'm unable to drink any Fluid.. Water hurts to go down.. Any suggestions on how you were able to take down your liquids. I did check the scale and I've lost 8 pounds since Wednesday but I'm still worried because of the liquids

It's the lack on energy that is hard the first few weeks. After a c-section you can eat, not so after wls.

I had surgery on Thursday and felt pretty great yesterday - but I kept up with my pain meds and that's the reason I wouldn't have wanted to go to work. I woke up in pain and took them first thing in the morning. I didn't take them yet today and if today goes well I am considering swinging by the office tomorrow. You'll know if you feel up for it. I don't love the idea of being around coworkers and superiors while on codeine - it's strong stuff !
I've had a good recovery so far though. No trouble getting in fluids or Protein, good energy, I've been able to take long walks. So fingers crossed you feel great as well.

If you could possibly wait until Monday, that would probably be better.
Is there any work you could do from home over the weekend?

If I needed a few days they'd give me it, but we are a small company and they already have me paid time off with the birth of my son so I am trying to not take advantage of the fact they're very sweet and supportive people. I'm planning for this and only unless absolutely necessary will my plan change. Its a desk job with a lot of leeway and autonomy (i.e. I can get up and go walk when needed, close my door and work if needed, etc.) It's great to hear some people who have similar healing and pain styles say it's possible (CaitlynT, etc).
I didn't even mention the next weekend my family is moving into a new home. Lol

I am a quick healer too. I had op on Thursday and was back Tuesday (desk job) but I can work at home so can take breaks. Could you do that? This worked for me.

Neither the experiences of others nor your own surgery history can tell you for sure how you'll feel post-op. Be wise and count on needing some time off. If you do bounce back in a day or so, fine. Even then, take if easy. If "no time to take" is fact, what happens if you do need time? Time without pay? Being fired? If you can't afford the first and the second is gospel, you might consider postponing until you have a week accrued.

Yup you are loco! I had 2 c-sections and found them to be more painful than VSG. Big difference with this surgery is the liquid diet. You might have less pain but the change in diet can leave you tired and moody for awhile. I was worse at 2 weeks than I was at 1 week. I kept feeling bad until I started soft foods and Vitamins. After that I bounced back quickly and felt great. Remember your fluids and Protein are your priority. Good luck!!!

I am like you and I do not get held down for long. I healed very quickly from my csections and I am 4 days post op from sleeve surgery and could definitely do a desk job. The discomforts are similar to csections. If you have a job where you are on your feet all day... Inwould think twice about doing so. Remember to get your fluids and Proteins in... that has been the hardest for me! Good Luck!

I joined the losers bench on July 5th! I had a reaction to anesthesia which set me back a few day. Inwas unable to keep anything down until Thursday afternoon. I was released Thursday evening. I was so greatful to sleep in my own bed. I have not had to have any painkillers since Thursday morning when I was still vomiting. My stomach does ache a bit when walking and with the gas pains. Inhabe tried gas-x with minimal relief. Walking is what is helping me most. So far, I have average 24 oz of fluids since release from the hospital. Because I was so ill, I did not use anything thing I brought. I had blurred vision until today. I went home in the clothes I came in. I am feeling pretty good today!!
