Had completed my milk and jelly diet was on nil by mouth all night they got me up and ready I was sat around for hours in my gown and stockings and then somehow even though I had been over night they canciled my surgery as they didn't have a bed for after. This hospital doesn't have an a and e department so it was because of that. So it was pretty much sorry we can't do can you get dressed and go now as we want this bed. Crushed doesn't even describe it. So I will have a new date within 28 days so now I'm still not aloud food for up to 28 days it's killing me and mine is so strict it's sugar free jelly and 3 pints of skimmed milk a day. No food no soup no broth I can't do this for like 6 weeks I really can't. I've been trying to do this since 2015 I got to pre assement before and then they took me off the list as supposedly wasn't mentally well enough but I dissagree. So start again the surgeon said I will only have to wait 2 months well it was 7 and now it could be another month. I understand things happen but it's always to me I feel like I've been kicked in the teeth I'm just tierd of this prosses I just feel like I'm destined to die of obesity.

  6. Hi I'm on day 5 of 14 of the diet I'm only aloud sugar free liquids like tea juice I have to have 3 pints of skimmed milk and sugar free jelly a day. I thought it was going to be a lot harder hunger wise (touch wood) I haven't really been hungry I don't know if it's because I'm telling my self I'm not and its two weeks and I'm in the right head space but I feel like I'm gaining weight I feel bloated and lethargic has anyone else felt like this. I feel physically unwell and drained yet heavier I don't know if it's psychological or because I'm tierd and I associate this eating too much or eating the wrong things. Anyone had anything similar? Thanks. I'm really craving sprouts for some reason. Lol

    Weight gain pre op :(

Ive had problems with mental health and at one point I was taken off the waiting list as my psycatrist contacted my team and told then he thought I was too unstable. Been put back on and I have it in 7 days. I have an eating disorder which they have known about from the beginning so I did put on a waight at one point and they just asked me to keep trying and keep going. They have never threatened to take the surgery away or anything and I'm even more stable now and I know the support is there it's made it easier to loose weight and carry on if that makes sense because I sabotage things if 1 I'm scared I will fail so if I balls it up now so I don't prelong it 2 I don't like not knowing and 3 I don't deserve it. But I have worked on them issues and I'm not letting interfere. I think they understand the relationship we have with food as we wouldn't be getting surgery if we could just loose weight like that. I think there understanding and if you are trying and not under the illusion it's a quick fix and you don't need to try they won't take it away from you.
  8. I'm in the UK so my experience is a bit difrent. The US sounds like you have to do a lot of leg work and find the right things and people because here we have the nhs and its like a whole package start to finish you are refered to the bariatric team and all there care is within each other surgeons nurses dietitions psychologists everything all the teaching and stuff and all the pre work , the surgery and care within the team afterwords for 2 years then like you can see a doctor if you need help with it forever basicly. Am I getting this write or wrong bit confused. We don't choose a surgeon your just automatically given one. Appoimebts are just sent out and if not convenient you can change them. You can ring anyone at anytime. But here you have to go through all the teaching and a psychological assessment before you can be put on the waiting list then/ he waiting list is 6 to 12 months but you carry on seeing them in the mean time ever like 6 weeks. I think my team was deffenatly involved.

    Pre op diet- getting dizzy

I'm on a 2 week one of just sugar free jelly and 3 pints of skimmed milk and sugar free drinks like tea and coffee. I'm on day 7 and I realised if I had for got to take my vitamins I felt it more too. I would try and stick to it as much as you can I know it's hard and it feels like your body is craving and needing these things but I keep telling my self there is a reason they have asked me to do this so I need to stick to it. I thought I was going to pass out just going to the bathroom from my bedroom. Can you have more vegetable content in your broth maybe give you a bit of a kick. Low fat most of the time means they have to fill it with something else as they have taken the fat so stick more sugar in it so wont help you shrink your liver. If you do have somthing try to make sure it has naturaly accuring sugars than refined so fruit and such. Or you could try moving and getting up slower that might help to let your body a just.

You can get zero cals syrup sauce thing that you can put in and on food which might help people too. I got some from Holland and barrot but I don't know for people outside the UK and I'm sure they do other brands too.

I'm only aloud 3 pints of skimmed milk a day and sugar free jelly and sugar free drinks that are flat. I'm on day 7 of 14 and I've found sugar free syrups to put drinks like my coffee it's helped a lot. Eveb added it to milk and it helps when you want somthing sweet like a dessert when I can't have anything other than bloody jelly lol.

    Day 5 liver shrinkage diet

Yeah it's sugar free it might be called somthing else in the world but he we call in cordial squash or juice. It's a standard drink in the UK and the sugar free has virtually any calories. My dietation said to drink it.

Sorry when I say juice i mean cordial that you dilute. I have no swelling or anything i just think it might be in my head or the milk. Thanks for the reply.
