    Getting back on track

I don't like weighing and measuring either. I do, however, attend weight watchers and follow the core plan. The groups are wonderful and help with hints and strategies on how to handle eating the right things. Just remember the pain that we had after the surgery!!!!!!

    Gas

I was eating southbeach diet protein bars and they have whey in them. That was bothering my stomach so I found a different soy bar. I tried splenda Peeps and had a storm in my stomach and intestines. OMG is was terrible. I did find that beano helps alot with the gas. It almost disappears.

    ARRRGH weight gain

I put on 2 pounds and i'm so upset with myself. I took my butt to Shapes today and worked out for 45 minutes. I thought going back to work would help me not think of food all the time and help lose weight. I called and moved up my first fill to the begining of April instead of the end of April. I hope that helps.

    Gas

I have never had that problem, but I have gotten nauseous from eating a little to much. I did that twice and now I know when to stop. It is the reason why I got the lap band, so I could eat less. Those bad over eating habits are the hardest to get rid of. I go to weight watchers to help modify my eating habits.

I'm officially in bandster hell. Help!

I haven't been able to get my first fill yet, however, since the surgery I can't eat any type of beef products, even ground beef gets stuck. I have been able to eat pork but only the lean cuts. I have tried smoked salmon and it was hard to swallow. Maybe its the fat content of the meats.

    Gas

I'm not sure, but I think it is the increase in protein that we are eating. I eat same amount of calories, but most of it is in protein. I am so paranoid about this issue too. Today someone brought of the topic of "Gas" today and another one answered that it has been relatively quite:scared2:. Well, I had a good morning, and never, Never, passed anything in the work room. I was dying of embarrasement:blushing:. I thought they had heard me from the bathroom:crying:. Then they proceeded to say that the price of barrels of oil hadn't gone up yet. I was so relieved.!!!!!!

    Self induced vomiting

I agree 100%. When they told me that I just kept smiling and thought to myself how discusting that is. I have experienced having food sit on top of the opening. I have found if I relax and wait it will go down. Both time that it happened, I forgot to chew enough. Now, I'm so afraid of vomiting that I am obsessed with chewing my food into mush in my mouth.

    Self induced vomiting

I met a couple who had lap band surgery 4 years ago. They were telling me that when they ate something that didn't sit well, they would make themselves vomit, they called it "rebooting". Personally, I don't like to vomit on any occasion and would never do this. Is this a common practice?

I'm officially in bandster hell. Help!

I know that every doctor is different. My doctor want me to eat every two hours, but high Protein low calories. I do this by eating Protein Bars from the South Beach diet, and Revival soy. I try to buy the ones highest in protein, 15g-19g. I also drink soy shakes from revival soy 20g for serving-280 calories. I've lost approx. 18 pounds since my banding 1/15/08. My doctor said that my site was still swollen and I can have my first fill for another 8 weeks. If I didn't eat every two hours I would fall over.
  18. Finally, I lost 1.4 this week. I added a lot of Protein into my diet via shakes and Protein Bars. That seemed to have helped. I also noticed that I have so much more energy! My doctor told me I couldn't go back to the spa until 6 weeks passed, i'm getting antsy. I would love to see what the scale says after I go back!

    Residual abdominal pain

Yeah, I have some discomfort in that area. I'm close to my six weeks post op and the pain has slowly dissapated.
  20. I'm sorry that that happened to you. My doctor won't consider a fill until a full 6 weeks have passed. Just like you I can't stand to be hungry!!!!! I've started drinking shakes to give me the Protein that I need and since I'm allergic and intolerant to any milk products it has been a challenge! I've found a product called Revival Soy. I get 20g of proten in the shake alone and it's only 120 calories. I add 16oz of soy milk for 14g more of protein and 180 calories; my intake total is 34g protein, 300 calories. I still get hungry, but not the out of my mind hunger that was so overwhelming. I'm learning to make my mind set that soy drink is nutrition and food is a snack only. I wonder if it will every change.
  21. Wow Jachut a whole dress size, thats Amazing!! I guess that is as good as a scale change. Kat08, good luck on your first fill. Let us know how it went.
  22. Weight Watchers always stress that sometimes the body takes time off after a big lose to readjust itself. I guess it is better than having alot of hanging skin. I can tell that my body is smaller. My clothes are baggy and my pants fall down. I had to go shopping in my closet. But I want the scale to change!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. OOO, i'm so glad I stopped in today. I was banded 1/15/08 and lost 10 but haven't lost in almost two weeks. I've been sticking to my weight watchers plan 100% not even using the extra 35 points and still haven't lost. I have lost 7 inches around my waist. But would love to see the scale go down.

    Waiting in Florida

My doctor also based in Florid had me eating Clear liquids days 1-3 after the surgery. That is Water, broth, natural or sugar free juice and clear Jello. Day four I started and am still on creamy liquids. Like 100% blended Soups, Protein drinks, cream of wheat that is Soup like consistancy. The hardest part I found was my friends bringing over foods for my family to cook, it smelled so good and I wanted to eat it. The other hard part was tv commercials. Every other one is about food, and when you can't eat it, it is torture. I recomend getting dvds to watch so you won't be bombared with food ads while you are recovering. I also bought cross stitch to do to occupy my time. While I was on really strong pain meds it was hard to read a book. Tee Hee. I'm going to be weighted tomorrow, but my scale says at least 10 pounds this week.
  25. I feel for ya, food has always been my support. Just remember this too shall pass, they will get better and then you will be able to get back to the Y. In the mean time how about those cute exercize videos for kids. You could do it with them. Teaches them to enjoy exercize and something to do with mommy, and..... will burn off some of their enerygy.
