Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
Dizzeepinkee replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I work in the oilfield (read: rough and tumble guys without an ounce of tact), a friend had the sleeve in April last year, 280ish to 185 yesterday. I was asked if I wanted to look like him a, and I quote, "starving ethiopian". Trust me, my skin is thicker than my waistline. -
Great job! I am saving my Snoopy dance for just this occasion (guy version of course, if I'm trying on women's jeans something serious has snapped in my mind), but when it comes, I'm not gonna care who's watching.

I've heard that if you stand on your head, drinking an unjury Protein shake and simultaneously slap a monkey while listening to Elvis sing Hound Dog, your hiccups won't go away, but if you film it you could be a Youtube sensation. Just sayin'.

Chicken livers... It's what's for dinner
Dizzeepinkee replied to Emilie.Lancaster's topic in Food and Nutrition
Maybe it's the memory of being made to eat livers weekly as a kid, but NOTHING you just wrote has changed my mind...I'd rather starve! Sure glad you found something that agrees with you though. -
Perforce, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but your bathroom scale is broken. You really have lost 68.5 kgs, Bariatricpal.com in all it's infinite wisdom has decided to let you in on that little secret.

Tape a note of your short term goal on the fridge and the front door. You can endure almost anything for a few days if you focus on your goal. -
Looking for buddy?
Dizzeepinkee replied to sam1016's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm in South Jersey, if by South Jersey you mean central Oklahoma. Lol I start my pre op 2 week diet the day after Valentines Day. Is it weird that THAT is what I'm dreading the most right now? Not surgery, recovery, the permanent paradigm shift in my life, but the measley 2 weeks I have to diet previous. Ha! -

What, specifically, caused you to become obese?
Dizzeepinkee replied to careya123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Entering puberty: My grandma used food to keep my brother and I happy. Not her fault, we were out of control, and she fed us what ever we wanted. Moved in with my Dad and step mom as a teen, she got me eating healthy. Didn't start to gain weight until my early 20's. No exercise and brown bagging it every day, lots of hamburger helper (carbs carbs and more carbs). Always worked in a field service industry, so I would eat poorly on the go. Yo yo'd back and forth, even hitting goal weight at 29. Got bigger on the rebound every time. Biggest downfall.....cheesecake. Or chocolate. Or peanut butter. Or....
