  1. I had my surgery on February 15th. Since then I don't feel any different. I don't feel full since started soft purée diet. I am hungry all the time. I lost my sense of smell. The only difference is I feel tired. I will confess I ate two ritz crackers the other night Bc I felt so nauseous. What am I doing wrong?! Could my pouch Be open? Is it beneficial to restart my phases again? I feel horrible for eating the crackers.

  2. Well my surgery was yesterday (2/15). I woke up in excruciating pain, I found this odd because what I have read from everyone else that surgery wasn't that bad. Maybe I am just a big baby. I am finally home. I always heal better when I am home. Good luck everyone. I will fill in more information after I don't feel so loopy.

  3. So surgery is scheduled this upcoming Monday. I am super nervous. ???? I am going to the hospital today for preop and to speak with the anesthesiologist since I have bradycardia and severe hypotension(yes you read that right). My normal blood pressure is 90/50 and heart rate is in the 40's. I am extremely exhausted all the time. Apparently it's really rare to have readings like this when your obese and out of shape. I'm fixing that though lol. So anyways just wanted to give a update. I lost quite a bit of weight a year ago but it's slowly creeping up again. That's why we thought it would be best to do surgery.

I am so sorry to hear everything you went through. I am glad that it has solved some of your issues though. Back pain just seems to be a mystery for some doctors. It took my doctors three years to find out it was my spine causing referred pain to my abdomen. After years of therapy it manifested itself. I did try the neurostimulater as well but with absolutely no relief. I was so heartbroken. I sincerely hate taking pain meds. I feel as though some doctors view me as a criminal. Only Bc they don't think my pain is severe enough only Bc I take hydro and fentanyl in very small doses. What they don't know is I refuse to increase my dose Bc I don't want to feel out of sorts. I will pray that your back pain will resolve once it realizes that your not carrying the extra weight. Thank you for your story and God bless.

Thank you so much. That means a lot to me.

  5. Well it's official now. First I was scheduled for the 25th then the 11th now it's the 15th. That's for sure to..... I hope. I am super excited. I have to pay for mine since insurance denied me. I am a lower bmi (38.9)(I think). The only comorbidities I have are high cholesterol, PCOS, endometriosis, arthritis and GERD. Also a nasty hiatal hernia. Anyways insurance isn't going to hold me back. Everyone says "wow it's amazing you have the funds for this" however I don't but my doctor is awesome and is working with me on payments. He truly is the best doctor. So long story short I am super excited and I am super ready!!! Life changing decision with a awesome tool!

  6. My surgery is scheduled for February 15th. I see a pain doctor for a herniated disc and severe pain from stage 4 endometriosis. Now I have a contract with my pain doctor and I see him next week to talk about my medication before surgery. Currently I take hydrocodone and fentanyl. So do I need to go to liquid hydrocodone or just get a pill crusher? We are hoping with weight loss that it will help my back.

  7. Hello everyone! A little over two years ago a friend and I struggled to work out everyday. We pushed through and did it though. We were very diligent on what we ate and how much. However with fail we never lost the weight. We both struggled with weight all of our lives. One day I causally mentioned WLS to her. I told her it was something I was going to look into. Well soon after that I had some medical issues and I felt I could get the weight off myself so I didn't follow through with meeting with a surgeon. My friend did though and started her journey to a happier healthier life. Insurance approved her with a bmi over 40. She had comorbidities but didn't list them(I think). Well today she looks absolutely amazing. I am so proud of her. So with that said here I am. I have had chronic problems with gastric ulcers, gerd and joint problems. I met with my surgeon this past November. I did everything. sleep study, psych, bloodwork, cardiologist, NUT. EVERYTHING! whew. Well my paperwork was turned into Tricare and they denied it. They said I didn't have any of the listed comorbidities. My bmi is 38.7. I have PCOS, endometriosis, arthritis, gastric ulcers, gerd and severe back pain. I have been seeing a orthopedic for years now for my back pain. So my coordinator filed a appeal but I told her regardless I was going to pay for it. My surgery is scheduled for February 25th!! I can't wait. I am hoping Tricare changes their minds but if not so help me I will have this done. I am ready to change my life for the best!
