I've lost 60lbs so far, as of this morning, woo! It hasn't been 6 months yet, so I'm going to hold off on the poll until it's closer to the 26th.

Oh, thanks! My dad suggested LapBand for me when I was 17 & actually weighed enough to have it done but my surgeon, Dr. Cribbins, said I had to wait. My mom then suggested I just try to lose the weight... it works well for awhile but I couldn't lose more than 40lbs by myself. *Wow I ramble* Anyway, the main thing that was so frustrating was after I lost 40lbs, I gained back 20lbs & I was no longer a candidate for surgery. Thankfully I had already talked to my surgeon & he remembered & fudged the numbers so I wouldn't have to gain too much back. /rant haha

It's okay. Our sixth month poll will be happening sometime soon anyway. No worries!

I'm glad this thread is getting action again. I didn't stop smoking for my surgery & have been smoking everyday since then. My weight loss has been going nicely with no problems from my smoking. But yeah, I missed this thread.

My highest was at 280 at 5'11. Thank god I'm tall.

I'm 56lbs down & at 20% weight loss. Weight Loss Percentage Formula: Divide the weight loss by the starting weight and multiply the answer by 100. Ex: Starting weight = 200, pounds lost = 5 5/200 = .025 .025*100 = 2.5%

The burping is a little annoying, but I'm pretty good at masking them. Haha.

I've been overweight my whole life. It makes it even more weird to think about me being skinny.

I agree with Luscious. If you can convince your parents to attend a seminar, then your doctor can convince your parents that LapBand is safe & an amazing tool.

I go to a community college in Texas. As far as drinking goes, I haven't had any problems with any alcohol I've come across. Though, once I'm drunk, the food has no trouble going down.
