What can I say about today? Amazing!!!!! If you follow my story , today was day 9 of the wait. I was so tired of hearing "its still pending", I said I would just wait it out. But a relative who had the procedure 9 months ago(one of the few people who know) messaged me today at 7am to ask if I had a date yet. I really did not want to have the conversation cause it was driving me crazy . I answered her and informed her of the process I am going through. At the end of our conversation I thought "what the hell let me call. Normally the rep takes 2 seconds to come back with "pending", after a 10minute hold she returned. Your request was approved and letter sent out today. I think the next 5 minutes I heard nothing she said. The reality of the word APPROVED, was trying to find me. I should have waited until the company called the surgeon's office . But waiting is not easy for me, so I called and left a message. A hour later the scheduler called to let me know that she had a few ahead of me and would call me on Monday to lock in a date. 3hours later I had my three pre-appointments, and a ..................................................SURGERY DATE JUNE 1st

@@CrissyCakes we may end up being surgery date buddies, Just got my approval, and the scheduler called to congratulate me, she was not able to schedule me right then but said she would call by Monday and it look like the first week of june is a go

@dawnie_doo have you met with the new surgeon yet? I just finally got my approval this morning , they didn't give me any details so guess that means the surgeon /facility is ok I was nervous that since they are out of state I may have a issue.

Called Aetna today and after the longest hold ever, I heard the word APPROVED'!!!!!! Or maybe not I think I've heard the word pending so many times I may have heard what I wanted to hear. Maybe I'm so excited I'm in denial. It finally happened I heard her say the approval letter was sent in the mail today. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

I think a lot of The Hunger is coming from my increased amount of activity because exercise and definitely makes me hungry more often the only difference between now and before I submit to insurance is I'm choosing Foods that are low in Protein and high in carbs or sugar but I'm in the gym Faithfully and I'm going to keep calling Aetna everyday Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Since January when I started this process I have a been great about managing my food tracking and killing these weigh ins. Since my last appointment I have gained almost 3 lbs from stress eating...I call Aetna everyday and it does not help that every one on here that was waiting with me has been approved. I hope I get the answer soon on day 8 of the wait. I cant take my mind off of it....

Omg I think since you're approved and they sent your chart over you'll be good to go the only thing is I'm sure you have gotten used to the idea of one person performing the surgery and now you have to change gears Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Do you have or can you create an online log in for your insurance? If so most if not all companies have their clinical bulletin posted. I know with Aetna even though the details are spelled out you still have to ask your policy. Some employers exclude wls to get a lower rate. But if is discovered that its an exclusion, then that's what it is , no special circumstances. If its covered that does not guarantee surgery , you would then have to go through the requirements and submit for approval.

But I have seen some people on here get approve after an appeal , originally denied for gaining weight. I would say try not to gain it, one less thing to worry about later.

here you go http://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/100_199/0157.html im still pre op but im waiting on approval I gained a few ounces almost a full lb on one of my nut visits (which was not my monthly weigh n ) I freaked out They got my paperwork on 5/2... I call everyday. I have that policy printed and saved I have went through it at least 100 times, if my surgeons office would have missed something , I wouldn't . Now the wait has me stress eating. I need to refocus and loose the 2 lbs I gained since 4/29
