    Being politically correct sucks!

My company is huge (over 200K people) and I pay over 130K, 24 times a month. Not only that but the deductibles are increasing every year. Starting next year I now have to SHOP around for the best rate whenever our Dr. requires an out of office test, else if I go somewhere that is not the lowest, I pay the difference. I am so glad my WLS has stopped all the meds and health issues I have had.

    Tylenol issues, help

Tylenol makes a liquid form, but I suggest taking it with food. It upset me more than pills. I also strained my back a few months ago, and Tylenol is all that was allowed. I used alternating heat, cold and massage (With a few days of rest) to heal it. Good luck
  4. Thx or sharing. I will be watching my closely. I have no problems taking pills, but all the different Vitamins and supplements I take is a lot of pills to organize and take and taking 6 less by using patches helps, and I am hoping the slow daily release works.

    Any eat quinoa?

I eat it almost every day It is my carb in my PreWorkout shake and I use it in place of rice too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thanks I switched to patches 4 weeks ago, and go to have blood test Monday. I hope it goes well. I like the Patches better and feel they release thru the day rather than the digested ones.
  7. The key for me is to try small steps in calorie increases, and measure how my body responded. For some a small increase works well. and major increases at one time may prove to be too much and cause weight gain, which is discouraging. Good Luck

    Count down on...

Sorry for posting late, but you can do this. I was so weak and far behind my expectations when I returned to activity that I thought I would never get there. I am now almost where I was years ago with my endurance and performance, and have set goal for a 63 mile bike race early next year to take it to the next level. This way I stay motivated to keep training thru the LOOOOOOOOOOOOG winter months. Keep moving and enjoy the journey
  9. I agree. I found with working out 6 days a week, my 900 cals a day were slowing my system down, and I slow to stopped weight loss for weeks. Not till I increased to 1200, then to 1500 cals a day, did my weight loss begin again, as well as most of it was fat, and not muscle. Everyone is different and has different activity rate, but for me too low cals did have affect on me, as well as my energy and workouts are so much better now.

"The Most Popular Book the Year You Were Born"

My grandkids tell me it was the book of Genesis. Young whiper snappers. . . .
  12. Bypass is only a tool, and is not a cure all. We now have the responsibility to use this tool and plan, track and manage our intake and exercise to get and stay where we need to be at. I could see that if I did not plan and stick to the macros, even with a pouch, I could over eat calories and carbs to derail my progress. I too can eat anything and no real dumping. Also, due to revision, I have a much larger pouch than many others, and the volume I can eat at a sitting can seem huge. Luckily small amounts keeps me satisfied, I eat 5 to 6 small meals a day, and do not go over my allotted calories and carbs each day. Each of us has a different challenge, and ours is our bypass does not control fully what we can eat. Good luck.
  13. It has been 5 months since I last saw her, and sure she will nor longer ask that question. She is really cute, but very brash in her questions to everyone., and always really loud...(Typically 3 yr. old)
  14. Not going to miss my 3 year old grand daughter asking when I am having my baby. Not the best question, especially for a GrandPa.

    Tomorrow is my surgery day

Good luck, AM SURE YOU WIL DO WELL. I had full open procedure 20 yrs. ago and that pain and problems were still clear in my mind this time. Having laparoscopic was like a walk in the park after that. I was out in 24 hrs and off pain meds in a week.
  16. OUCHHHHHHHH They are really a pain to deal with.
  17. I am now down 87 lbs. and feel I have a long way to go, so never really see it yet. My son and wife keep saying I am really getting slimmer, but not till I recently tried on cloths that I have not worn for over 7 years (Last time I was just overweight, not obese), am I starting to realize the immense changes happening.

    Anyone eating with no restrictions

I am almost 5 months out and I think because of a revision, I have no real volume limit either, if I allow it. BUT, I know we can never allow it and so we have to closely watch what and qty we eat, to meet our requirements. The good thing is I do feel satisfied at smaller qty, so eating slow, and stopping, I really have no hunger to shovel in more. Our lot is to be more self managed, and less depending on the pouch to control us.

    Vitamins

I just started the patches and multi, Iron and B12 are no longer taken orally. I will get my labs done again in 2 weeks and expect good results. I only take calcium chewable and probiotic (My choosing) orally. The cost is not too bad, and I use my HSA account to offset the cost a little.
  20. When I had my band 20 yrs. ago, and got so used to eating the wrong foods, because proper food like meats, veggies, fruit ETC... would get stuck. So I progressively learned that sweet and smooth foods like ice cream and chocolates, and high calorie shakes gave me quick energy and I depended more on them as my body got worse in accepting anything good for me. The RNY fixed the problems and I am so happy that I can now eat anything I need to, to be healthy, and not would only pass thru. I have no sweet tooth anymore, and stay away from it to make sure I do not get into that habit ever again. My world opened up for me and hope the same for you.

    Going from Band to Bypass

I had my revision to RNY in May and so happy with it. My band also go to the point that liquids would not go thru and I was admitted to hospital several times due to dehydration. I also got immunity system problems due to the lack of proper nutrition. No more Gerd, No more stuck foods, and also, enjoying healthy foods again like salads, meats and eggs, where I could not even try without getting stuck & sick. Best to you on your revision.

    Microwave Popcorn

Funny I once had a VP that smelled that in our office once and posted a memo stating "No Odoriffic Foods Allowed"

    Pumpkin spice anywhere!?

I bought Pumpkin Pie spice on line at Amazon and use it for shakes, cottage cheese and other items. If you use it lot, the cost of buying larger qty is so much better than the 1 oz. bottles in the store at 4+ dollars a bottle.
