  1. Honestly, I'm 10 days post op and haven't gotten over regretting this surgery but I still have hope that the constant burping, nauseous feeling, can't stand up straight because of the incisions, taking tiny tiny sips when I'm extremely thirsty and want to gulp, lower back pain, etc. My life has completely changed and I haven't gotten to the good part yet. I do remember my reasons for having this surgery and look forward to getting to the good part even though it feels like it's far away. Any who, we are now "sleeved" and going back trying to do it the traditional way is not an option at this point and that's unfortunate to me. Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thank you so much for your reply, I just had a crying episode but the doctor said the same thing. I have to muster up some energy and get to it. Thanks again Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  3. I will be two weeks post-op this Tuesday. For a few days now, I have had a really bad pain in my lower back. My prescription Tylenol works to knock it out but I feel like I'm only taking it for back pain and pain from my stomach. I do have a little pain directly in front of that on the front side but it feels more like my esophagus instead of my stomach. I'm waiting on my surgeon to call me back. Has anyone experienced this?

  5. Yes I would stay on the liquid phase until it is cleared by your surgeon. My surgeon allows us and encourages us to start on pureed foods 7 days post-op Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  6. You're program doesn't allow pureed fruit?
  7. I'm 8 days post- op and I have a one year old. I'm unable to pick her up but my older daughters (10 & 15) have been excellent help while my hubby is at work. I get comfortable and then allow her to sit in my lap or on the side of me, I place a pillow over my stomach Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  8. My dietician emailed me back and said I can blend some fruit into my Protein shakes during the soft food/ pureed stage. She actually said "great idea!". Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App I told her they were frozen blueberries and cherries Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App
  9. Yes on Water, not quite on Protein, and I am sure that is factoring into the tired feeling. My plan calls for 48-64oz water and 100g protein. Yesterday I managed about 60 oz water and 64g protein. The day before I had around 64oz water but only 40g protein. It takes me forever to finish a protein shake. Today I am trying double strength protein shakes so I should have an easier time. I was doing 8 oz almond milk, 1 scoop protein powder. Today I am doing 12 oz with 2 scoops of protein powder so I only have to drink 2 shakes instead trying to finish 4. That's good, I'm steady trying to meet my goals but I get reflux/ burping after a sip on anything
  10. Have you been able to meet your protein/water goals? Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App

  13. I'm seven days post-op now and I will get comfortable, put a pillow over my stomach and have my hubby or one of our other daughters place her in my lap.She did try and dive on me very early on and I had to stop her in her tracks, I felt so bad! Sent from my SM-G928T using the BariatricPal App

  21. I had to call my NUT today just to confirm that I really should start my pureed/ soft foods phase on tomorrow. It seems that the norm on these boards are two weeks of liquids so i just wanted to clarify. She said absolutely yes...I feel as if I'm ready because I have actually been hungry today and look forward to something different. She said that being on Clear Liquids for an entire week can lead to Vitamin deficiencies. Also, it will hopefully make it easier for my Vitamins intake being able to take them after real food. What were some of the first soft foods did you try? Also, I asked about the Vitamin patch, because I hate taking vitamins... she said it was a scam because vitamins can't be absorbed through the skin. Different strokes for different folks I guess
