  1. I can't believe I forgot my shovel!
  2. I wasn't sure I'd get approved through insurance and had already decided I was going with them if I didn't. This is so great to read. I'm glad I got to have it close to home but I will defend this route to anyone who asks. My family seemed horrified that i was willing to do this. Why? They aren't some third world country and appear to do wonderful high quality work. I have heard nothing but good things about the doc and the staff.
  3. I was barely in the hospital 24 hrs. My bathrobe and a zip up hoodie were useful. And I bought new slippers. I wore the same clothes home I wore there. I brought my marajuca oil for my face (best stuff ever). I have long hair so I brought a hair tie too. Really I needed very little. They provided toothpaste etc.
  4. That's amazing! Great job and congratulations on the weight loss. Yay! You're on your way!
  5. Oh wanted to add have two friends one had bypass one had the sleeve. Bypass friend has hit goal and maintained for three years. Sleeve friend hit goal but has gained ten but says she's happy there. So that probably didn't help lol. I'm sorry! I think they're both great choices!
  6. I wanted the absorption available with the sleeve so I chose that. I've never had GERD so I was/am hoping that wouldn't be an issue for me. I liked the simpler surgery. My sister had bypass and has never hit goal. It's only as good of a tool as we make it.
  7. Oh man. So sorry. Don't be shy about using your pain meds. Hope you get feeling better fast.
  8. Call insurance. I found out in 24 hours but waited two weeks for a surgery date.
  9. I feel so bad for those that have to do liquids before surgery. They allowed me one sensible meal and three specific snacks and two protein shakes. Day before surgery I was clear liquids. I lost 15 lbs. it seems so strict. I'd have had a really hard time. Good luck to you guys! I am impressed!
  10. Congrats! You'll do great and be on the other side.
  11. Definitely getting ink when I'm near goal!
  12. You guys stick around and help us out so much. I value all the input you have given me. Even if it wasn't a specific question I asked, I learned through others questions. Just thought I'd give a thanks to the many of you who helped. Priceless!
  13. So happy to hear this. I just blurted out to my wife "I wonder how klingie is doing" and she looked at me like I was high! Lol maybe I am a little. When will you come home?
  14. I hope it's covered for you. You've worked hard!
  15. Wow!!! I can't wait to see too. Idk if I'll do any of the plastics. I'm a big chicken.
  16. Love this stuff too!
  17. No because I was already in ketosis from the liver shrink. Idk what caused it but I have had none today. Gas here and there but so much better so far. Phew!
  18. I think I'll purée an Atkins frozen dinner. Beef merlot. I loved it preop. Otherwise I'll try the refried beans and fat free sour cream.
  19. Oh boy. This will definitely be me down the road. Oh well. I'm married and happy. I'll deal with it! Are "wonder bras" still a thing?
  20. I'm on day two. I can barely stand up straight. I'm sipping a protein shake and hoping not to throw up. I do feel better today. I do laps around my house as it's been pouring here. It still amazes me how different we all are in our recovery.
  21. I don't have suggestions as I was just sleeved a couple days ago. I'm just so shocked at your lack of support. No nutritionist? I feel like I have a million follow up appointments already scheduled through next November. This is not right!

  24. We share a surgery date. Loved reading your posts. You're strong and I admire you so much! Glad you're healing up well. I too feel much better today already.
