  1. Depends on the Dr. I was cleared to swim at six weeks but he said if I felt well I could do it sooner. My incisions were all healed (no scabs, completely closed). My concern is the fatigue. I tire fast and hard! I'll be swimming next week at seven weeks! How far along will you be when you're on vacation? Pool, lake, or ocean swimming?

That rubbed me the wrong way too. Even if it's a joke, not cool.
  3. Inspirational! Thanks'
  4. Inspirational! Thanks'
  5. I had read about the energy being low but it's a totally different thing when you experience it. It's truly been the most bothersome part of this. I'm taking a vacation at 7 1/2 weeks out too!
  6. Hell, I only lost 7 and my team was pleased. They should be happy!
  7. You won't ever feel like you're not gambling because you are. At least the odds are very much in your favor. That was what I struggled with the most. I loved my life and I was petrified to risk anything that would change it for the worse. I opted for the sleeve and surgically at least, I'm a success. Time will tell as I'm only six weeks out. It's in my hands now. Good luck with your decision!
  8. Thank you! How far out are you? What exercises did you start with?
  9. Had my post op check up and got cleared for everything! Eating, exercise, swimming! I can't believe I had surgery sometimes! I am so happy to have had this done. Went through my closet and got rid of two bags of clothes! Down 31 lbs and already my optimism and confidence are up. I have so much hope now. It's amazing. Happy Independence Day everyone!! 10. Yep, went through this too. Also watched food shows! It ended when I could eat soft foods. I have no interest in cooking shows and I'm only hungry when I should be hungry. Scared me but it will settle down.
  11. You are beautiful! Congrats!
  12. Were you driving and got hit or a pedestrian? Eek! And, I LOVE that swordfish handbag! Shut up! Happy to watch folks blossom into happy confident self respecting humans! Congrats!
  13. I stayed off the scale except at post op appts.

  15. How're you feeling today?
  16. I can relate to this. I lose energy fast and when it's gone it's GONE. My blood pressure was really low today so I'm stopping medication to see if it helps. (I'm only on a very low dose of one med) I'm not going over my head when I go swimming. I'm scared I'll lose my energy. I keep hoping that 8 week mark is the magic energy mark.
  17. I was so sick of shakes! I made egg salad a lot. Refried beans. Tomato soup (you can add unflavored protein powder in). Go to Pinterest for some food ideas! You'll be ok!
  18. Eggs were considered purée for me. I did have a soft white fish before I was supposed to and it was fine.
  19. 6 weeks out and I can take big swallows that totally satisfy me. I was a guzzler too! It gets much better!
  20. Good luck! See you on the other side!
  21. I was 4 1/2 days completely nicotine free when I had my blood test and it came up negative. I've read it (cotinine not nicotine) stays in urine a bit longer. If you completely abstain you should be ok!
  22. You'll get lots of varying answers. Everyone heals differently. What will you be eating at that point in recovery? My energy was poor at two weeks post op. I wasn't cleared to swim yet either. Some people had loads of energy (see above lol)
