    I just need some support

Diamonds, this is the worst part of the process imo. I had a much more difficult time pre op with the diet than post up. You can and will do this and it'll just be a distant memory. It's all worth it!

    I just need some support

    Right?
  3. So many of us almost cancelled! I almost walked out of the waiting room surgery morning. I'm so glad I didn't! Congrats!
  4. That's healing up so well! What a difference! How're you feeling?

    Not telling Mom/some others....opinions

There have been times I've read this type of post and received vibes of shame from other posters. Almost as if it is our job to educate and remove the stigma of WLS. This wasn't one of those threads I'm happy to see. I am so glad you got the support and personal stories from the group! Going through this surgery is hard enough, we all have our own reasons for sharing or not. Best wishes!

    Surgery day?

It's understandable that you're scared. For me, and I've had five surgeries, every single time they put a mask over my mouth and nose and say something like count backwards or goodnight and bam I'm out. I wake up and it's like no time has passed. I'm a little disoriented when I wake up but quickly realize where I am. The pain and nausea varied depending on the surgery. Tell them if you have either and they take care of it immediately. I'm guessing you've never had anesthesia? Honestly, for me, its never been a big deal but it still makes me nervous just because it's all out of my control.

I finally have my surgery date

I'd ask how she's feeling but I'm gonna guess pretty good lol Remember how scared I was? It was a waste of energy! I feel great now. We're all rooting for you! Get all healthy so you can feel as good as your honey!

    Italian ice too fast

You're welcome! Do drink water though, last thing you want is dehydration! Hope you're feeling better.

    Italian ice too fast

It could be the artificial sweetener used in it as well. I could see eating pudding too fast but Italian ice seems difficult to eat fast. Unless it was kind of melted? I can't eat sf pudding, goes right through me.

    Am I a weirdo?

Hi fellow weirdo. I was just like you. I'm almost nine weeks out and it's still the same. I can tolerate anything. I didn't feel any restriction until I started eating regular food. Even though I could not feel it I still only ate what I was supposed to. I think it's a good thing really. In any event, definitely don't worry about it. This weirdo's sleeve is working and I'm losing weight. [emoji16]
  11. I was allowed avocado in the soft stage. I mashed it with hummus. So good!

    Meaty Meltdown

It just shows up in topics. Unless you specifically look at the bottom you wouldn't notice. I didn't even know the OP was a guy asking. Simmah down there, no harm meant.

    Gained 2 pounds!!

An example of my snacks are cheese, almonds, 2 pcs of bacon, pepperoni, a protein bar, and all of it is measured out. It's so easy to measure food and food scales are pretty inexpensive at Walmart (about the price of two bags of chips [emoji3])

    Gained 2 pounds!!

Do you live with other people who bring that type of food into the house? The first thing to do is get that stuff out of the house via the trash. You have to take advantage of these early days and change your eating habits. Dig in!

    Forgiveness...anyone?

What outside said. Every word. Also, women feel perfectly fine commenting on each other's bodies, which is weird in many ways because we fight so hard to stop body shaming. My guesses are that they're trying to compliment you but may be insecure as well. If it's meant mean spirited you'll know. For now assume it's you and not them because you're definitely in the hormonal phase (luckily it didn't happen to me but I'm the outlier here) because I have an issue holding my tongue and then have to apologize a lot. Try not to project or assume why people are behaving the way the are and enjoy your new figure and your new life. Change is tough. Even good change.

    Sex life after WLS

Sex is better and more frequent for me because I feel better about myself and healthier, for me sex starts in the mind.

    Sex life after WLS

Bendy! I always say this. I am very UNbendy. Started yoga last week to help be more bendy. We shall see.
  18. I'm almost nine weeks out and love my food. You're still healing. I don't know how long it'll take but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to fully enjoy most foods down the road. Hang in there.

    Gained 2 pounds!!

What are you grazing on at night? I'm a night eater too. I started saving calories so that I'm not over eating. So I either start eating later in the day (no biggie as I dislike breakfast) or I just save calories by eating less in the day hours. It also might help if you plan out snacks and have them measured and ready.

    Body Figire

In 53 and definitely care about my looks as well as my health. The older I get the more it's about health but there's a good dose of vanity in there for me as well. If vanity gets you to healthy it's a win win. No telling what you might look like when you lose weight but you're young and can work out and hey, there's always plastics.

    Breakfast help

Yesterday's breakfast was five slices of pepperoni, a stick of cheddar, and six almonds! I get so tired of eggs and finding low carb breakfast foods isn't easy so i eat whatever. Day before was a chicken thigh.

    Surgery stories???

Surgery was not too bad for me. I was so scared. Woke up a little nauseous and got meds for it, worked great. First hours after surgery were the worst of it for me. I had no gas. I took very little pain medicine. Walked a little hunched over for a week because it felt like I'd done tons of ab crunches. It was way less traumatic than I had built it up to be. Good luck!!

    Coughing up Blood

That sounds like a clot in his lungs. I'd head straight to the ER.
