Doing a pre op really really helps with going to liquid. It helps to ease the shock of going from eating to drinking liquid and purée for 6-8 weeks. Going from steak and potatoes one day to clear broth can be traumatic.

Your stomach is still very swollen. Stick to it as best you can I know those cravings and desires are real. But overall it's for your best

I didn't tell anyone either until I was absolutely necessary. I had one doctors visit where I had to bring someone with me. By the time I told everyone a week before surgery, it was too late and I let them know in my opening statement that they can't talk me out, of it I've already made my decision my surgery is already scheduled I'm just letting you know so that you'll know where I am. Follow your gut, pray and talk to your doctors a lot. Get advice from people who are on here who have been through it

I think that ricotta bake is a safe bet!!

Congrats! You'll be fine, There is no bigger chicken than I and I can truly say I wish I had spent less time worrying and more time picking all the new clothing I'll be purchasing.

Awesome! You'll be fine!!

I will say this, the pre-op diet is not fun but it's a necessary evil to embrace. Just imagine going from either filet mignon and lobster can go off and sugar-free Jell-O. So I'll see you stick to it now these are the transition will be after surgery it's all well worth it.

The best thing you can do now is focus on nothing in mind around the pre-op diet and getting yourself ready to transition post surgery. I wish I had spent more time in the pre-op diet because after surgery that was extremely strict and if you go from eating lobster and fillet mignon to sipping on broth and Jell-O it can be very stressful

I think it really just depends on your doctor and schedule my surgery was approved on November 20. When my doctors office called to schedule the earliest that they had with the December the 19th.
-
Congratulations what an awesome feeling knowing that one of your calls is going to be achieved soon.
-
Oh my god that's awesome. I remember the anxiousness waiting to find out if I was going to be approved. Congratulations

I will say this, the sooner you stop everything or reduce everything the easier the transition will be. Because once you have your surgery everything stops.

wow that's really amazing to me I am six weeks postop and I am struggling to figure out how to get my Water and my posting. I use the Protein shakes and in between I'm sipping on water but I feel like I'm always gassy and I am always happy to put something in my mouth to try make his goals. How did you do this did you have a regular eating schedule?I did everything "right" through my post-op food stages. I followed my post-op nutrition plan like it was my Bible. I did my 60 total minutes of "brisk walking" per day. I got my Water and Protein in. Hit 100 grams of Protein daily before I was even back on solid foods. As soon as I was cleared for more intense exercise, I started Couch to 5k and strength training. I met my goal weight right at my one year mark and have been maintaining for almost 16 months.
I definitely don't do everything "right" anymore, but I do it well enough to maintain! Once you are in maintenance, it's about making good choices like 80-90% of the time.

I was sleeved 12/19/16 and had a wonderful experience. 5 incisions, Minimal gas. Sit up as straight as possible, pat the area where the gas is lodged and get moving. Remember pain is relative, so If you get your eyebrows waxed or endure any female beauty regiment you'll be fine. Sip slowly, don't use a straw and sit up and every time they offer nausea meds TAKE IT even if you don't feel nauseous yet. Once I discharged I didn't need the nausea stuff. At home take it painfully slow when eating. Guaranteed way to vomit is yo eat too fast which will cause you to eat too much & vomit. Good luck---it's sooooo worth it!

[emoji79][emoji120]????What hospital did your surgery? Soooo sorry you had to go through that. You are in my prayers.

Its hard to get it in for me as well. Between Protein Drinks eating and getting in Water I feel like I'm always consuming something. I average 2 16oz bottles daily.

It was 3 days before Christmas and all my elves were at work so I had to go to the mall and do a lot of walking. I did rest a lot while walking the stores but it served me better than laying in bed drinking broth. Got rid of all that nitrous oxide quickly. I never took my hydrocodone so I was good on the road. Pat your shoulders or where ever the gas is
