  1. I didn't tell anyone either until I was absolutely necessary. I had one doctors visit where I had to bring someone with me. By the time I told everyone a week before surgery, it was too late and I let them know in my opening statement that they can't talk me out, of it I've already made my decision my surgery is already scheduled I'm just letting you know so that you'll know where I am. Follow your gut, pray and talk to your doctors a lot. Get advice from people who are on here who have been through it

  2. I did everything "right" through my post-op food stages. I followed my post-op nutrition plan like it was my Bible. I did my 60 total minutes of "brisk walking" per day. I got my Water and Protein in. Hit 100 grams of Protein daily before I was even back on solid foods. As soon as I was cleared for more intense exercise, I started Couch to 5k and strength training. I met my goal weight right at my one year mark and have been maintaining for almost 16 months.

I definitely don't do everything "right" anymore, but I do it well enough to maintain! Once you are in maintenance, it's about making good choices like 80-90% of the time.

wow that's really amazing to me I am six weeks postop and I am struggling to figure out how to get my Water and my posting. I use the Protein shakes and in between I'm sipping on water but I feel like I'm always gassy and I am always happy to put something in my mouth to try make his goals. How did you do this did you have a regular eating schedule?

  3. I was sleeved 12/19/16 and had a wonderful experience. 5 incisions, Minimal gas. Sit up as straight as possible, pat the area where the gas is lodged and get moving. Remember pain is relative, so If you get your eyebrows waxed or endure any female beauty regiment you'll be fine. Sip slowly, don't use a straw and sit up and every time they offer nausea meds TAKE IT even if you don't feel nauseous yet. Once I discharged I didn't need the nausea stuff. At home take it painfully slow when eating. Guaranteed way to vomit is yo eat too fast which will cause you to eat too much & vomit. Good luck---it's sooooo worth it!

  4. It was 3 days before Christmas and all my elves were at work so I had to go to the mall and do a lot of walking. I did rest a lot while walking the stores but it served me better than laying in bed drinking broth. Got rid of all that nitrous oxide quickly. I never took my hydrocodone so I was good on the road. Pat your shoulders or where ever the gas is
