    Resturant Buddy

I order an app and my husband eats why I can't. It's perfect. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am 4 months out and my husband and I have a pact. When we go to dinner somewhere, I will usually have a salad with grilled chicken and he orders a lighter meal and eats most of my salad for me. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    When does hair loss begin?

Mine was about four months (I just started losing it). I know it will be a few months for it to grow again, but luckily I started out with a lot of hair. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. Does anyone else feel this? I was sleeved on April 29th and it seems as though every time I eat (within the last month), my opening and my stomach constrict or tightening. I'm not sure if that's normal. I have been chewing my food to the right consistency and have been taking small bites (putting the fork down in between). Should I call the Dr. or is this normal?

    Daily meds post-op

I only took one capsule so I opened it up and put the beads on my tongue being careful not to chew them (extended release). It was easy to swallow. But if they are small it should be ok. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  8. My doctor suggested yoga. He said the skin will stretch during yoga but that when you relax, and the skin goes back it goes back tighter. I have only done it for a week so I haven't noticed anything yet, but it's worth a shot. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Just not hungry

I now see food as simply fuel for the body and not something that i really 'enjoy' anymore. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad, but I'm going with it for now. The good thing is, I only choose Protein (yogurt, cheese, shakes) and very little of anything else. So I know that I can at least get the protein in for the day. Water and fluids are still a challenge, but I am hearing that it will happen with time. I just have to get myself through this. Thanks for the support.
  11. I am having difficulty with my Protein and Water intake in the last couple of weeks. I am 60 days post-op and I have to force myself to put something in my body. I know I need to and I have been supplementing with shakes, but solids have all of a sudden become a challenge. Frustrated but hoping it will get better. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    3 Month Sleeve-versary

I am 60 days out today and I have lost about 30 lbs. I am having difficulty eating enough since I'm just not hungry. I have to remind myself that my body needs fuel. Some days I have to have a shake at night as well as for Breakfast to hit my Protein number. If my husband and I do go out, I order something small that I CAN have and then he doesn't order as much because he eats most of whatever I get. Although I am the only one who had surgery, we are a team. I have a fantastic support system between my husband and family. For family gatherings, I bring chicken so I know that there is something that I will be able to eat and I can share the chicken with those who don't want burgers and hot dogs. My family is really great about not bugging me to eat more. They know that I just can't fit it in. I haven't really done a lot for exercise yet, but I want to. I just need to find the right thing for me. That is the hardest part of this whole thing. Getting moving again. I know it will happen, I just have to make it happen.

Boobs are a pain in the....

I have been getting mammograms and ultrasounds on my breasts for the past ten years (sometimes twice per year). There are always cysts which are NOT masses so NOT cancer and I am fine with that. I have tested negative for both BRCA I and BRCA II. I have had one biopsy and yesterday I had an MRI. Now, they are questioning the same spot they biopsied two years ago! I want to scream. I don't know if anyone of you have ever gone through this, but it is disruptive and upsetting all at once. Every time I get a call about my breasts I panic, even if it's only slightly. "What if this time they find something?" "What if they didn't catch something and I end up dying like my sister did?" Way too many thoughts run through my head and I try so hard to just be calm and tell myself I'm not going to do anything until I get the results. But if I'm always getting results (because of so many freaking tests), I'm always on alert. I realize that it's nothing to joke about or fool around with, but there has to be some sort of end game, doesn't there? I'm frustrated and I am thinking of just having a mastectomy. At least that will cut down on a lot of what I have to go through. I'm only kidding, but still. It sounds good.

Boobs are a pain in the....

@@jane13, Right? I can't breathe, my boob is burning like a wildfire because I think one of my cysts burst and you are telling me that I'm doing great. Of course I am! You are still alive! I am just tired of doing it, then having the ultrasound, then having them freak me out even more with more and more tests that ALWAYS show nothing. I have a feeling that this one will also show nothing.
  15. I am in Worcester, but I went to Reliant (St.Vincent). They were great. Unfortunately I don't know anything about Dr. Perugini. Sorry. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'm almost 3 months out and I would never be able to fit a whole piece of pizza in. After 2 weeks, I wouldn't chance going against the advice of my Nutritionist. I was afraid to try anything that wasn't on my program. I am not one to scold, but if you are eating like that in two weeks, what will your diet look like in two months or six months? This is definitely a lifestyle change and has to be taken seriously. Just my 2 cents. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. twinmomma1103, This is a fantastic idea! I wish I would have done it.

    Having trouble with Vitamins

Jabraham, I finally got the Patches and they are easy to use. So thanks for that message. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am having a real hard time with my Vitamins. I purchased the Celebrate Multi Complete Chewable and the directions say to take 2 per day. Well, I vomit every time I take even one. Has anyone tried any others that may not make me so sick? I know that it's probably because there are high doses of vitamins in each tablet, but if I vomit up 1/2 of the tablet once I take it, what good is it?

    Did you loose friends?

My best friend voiced her opinion and was against me having surgery. I simply told her that she didn't have to live in my body. We barely speak anymore and I have seen her one time since. And even after a 20lb. Loss she didn't congratulate me or say anything about it. I guess I don't matter as much as I used to. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  23. My surgeon said Yoga to stretch the skin. When it bounces back, he said it gets tighter. So I am beginning that tomorrow. He also said that Pilates is OK. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Alcohol

I have honestly been afraid to try wine. I am about six weeks post-op and although I wasn't a heavy drinker, I did enjoy a couple of glasses a week. I don't miss it like I thought I would. I am sure I will try it eventually, but right now I am not ready. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
