Honestly, I can't remember how long it was before I was back to all activities but you'll definitely know when it's time. I remember one day just all Of a sudden feeling much more like myself. Just listen to your body! Prob somewhere around 4-6 weeks

Breakfast suggestion: scrambled egg! i was never crazy about them before but they are my go to for sure now! they are quick, easy, nice amount of Protein and the texture goes down easily. sometimes i add a half piece of toast or some lemon pepper tuna on the plate as well but usually 1 egg is plenty. just eat bites slowly. I'm three months out and haven't been sick once from eating anything.

yep, same here. three months out and i can gulp now if i want to. I've noticed it feels way more uncomfortable if the drink is too hot or cold. i prefer not ice cold Water for sure now!!!!!!!!!!!

cute! i know i got some small plates and bowls at target (they even had divided plates!!!!) and they come in handy! i can control my portions on a regular size plate, but the smaller just take up so much less room in the sink or dishwasher!

it does get easier! like others have said, i either order something to split with hubby, order from the kids menu or order something that would re-heat well for leftovers. most places have been super awesome at accommodating my new lifestyle. i know someone else mentioned Golden Corral. that is my oldest sons favorite place and he always pics it. they let me get the buffet at the kids meal pricing! the last time i went i got a spoonful of their tuna salad and then a piece of the salmon and it was so good I've been thinking about it for a while now! they also have the option to weigh your plate for to-go pricing so that may end up cheaper option. they have good Soups as well. i know at cracker barrel i get the kids meal grilled chicken tenders with green Beans and it is too much but i can take the rest home! i mostly still just stick to Proteins if we have to eat out. I'm always the first one done eating (even while eating super slowly) so i just make conversation unless everyone is non-talkative and then thats when games on your phone come in handy! bahahahahah just kidding.

when i got just super sick of Water i would just have a little bit of a Powerade. the artificial taste of anything sugar free was sickening so i thought better to have just a little bit of the regular than be dehydrated. now i am back to just Water and everything else usually tastes terrible. your taste buds will keep changing all the time! I've had two occasions where i had to take a sip of a soda. both times i was choking on a small crumb of something and thats what my hubby happened to have in his hand. i didn't drink enough for it to seriously hurt me but the burps were something else! they lasted for hours!!!

yes it seems to be what your surgeon prefers. i had one that was removed the morning after surgery. i was probably more nervous about the drain than anything else but it was seriously nothing at all!

i too LOVE pickles and they never have bothered me. usually eat a spear a day on average. great snack! mmmmm.

So happy to see all these future sleevers. My surgery was 1/27 and I am down 39 pounds so far! Best decision ever!

I too have went thru some stalls. Sometimes it's because my bathroom schedule is no longer consistent. (I know. Tmi)
I think my other was due to not eating enough shockingly! My body must have went into starvation mode.

Surgery was 1/27. Surgery weight 205. Last weigh in a few days ago was 183! Doc told me to expect 30 lbs first 3 months and I'm already past that at 7 weeks so I'm happy! Still a struggle with water!!!
How is everyone else doing?

around the middle of my third week i tried a bite of a dill spear. chewed it like mad and it was fine. by the end of the week i worked my way up to around a half or a little over of a small spear. no problems for me at all. went down fine and also no reflux. i just try not to have too much of it since it really has no nutrional value.

feel much better today thank goodness and i lost a little over 4 lbs yesterday!!! yikes.

mine had nothing about pickles or acidic foods in my packet so last week i tried it. i got a pickle spear and just ate a bite and chewed really well. when it went down just fine the next day i tried a couple of bites. after a few days i was able to eat most of a pickle spear! woot. i am 4 weeks out today by the way so hopefully it will work for you. i had no issues with it going down well or with reflux. i am just trying not to eat too many of them since they really have no nutritional value to them!
Out of pocket average cost...

I was self pay and it was around $12,000 and that included complication insurance and all follow up visits with surgeon. Luckily my grandmother let me borrow the money and I pay her back monthly. Best decision ever!!!
