  1. I'm sorry about your frustration. I had surgery 2 weeks before you did and I've had 3 fills in my 4cc band, totaling 2.2cc. However, I found that unless I cut my calories to an average of 900 per day, I wasn't losing weight. Might I suggest trying that for a few days and seeing what the outcome is?
  2. Congratulations on both the marriage and the NSV!
  3. I am overall pleased with my band and happy with my decision. I would do it all over again.
  4. I've also heard that dairy products can help you lose weight. But, I try to stay away from dairy as much as possible. The most I have per day is 16 oz. of skim milk with my protein powder.
  5. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Keep fighting them up until the day you're no longer with them. Denying you on the grounds that your doctor's office burned down is ridiculous.
  6. We have 3 shelter (adopted) cats. Smokey is 7 years old and gray. Patches is 2 years old and a calico. And Simba is 2 years old and a brown/black tabby. Here are photos of all 3.
  7. My surgeon explicitly forbids the use of NSAIDS.
  8. Congratulations Paul!! :banana
  9. I had my 3rd fill last Tuesday and I feel very good restriction. I am now down to a total weight loss of 31 pounds. I can't wait for the moment when I can actually SEE the difference in the mirror.
  10. According to a post by DrHekier..... "The new code is valid January 1, 2006 I am told. It is 43770. 43770 – Laparoscopy, surgical, gastric restrictive procedure; placement of adjustable gastric band (gastric band and subcutaneous port components)." Here's the thread link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11845
  11. I have never been to a support group. Since Hurricane Katrina hit a lot of previously scheduled support groups have been canceled. Let me know if you hear of any and I'll see if I can attend.
  12. I was banded in mid-September and just got my 3rd fill last Tuesday. I now have 2.2cc in a 4cc band and my restriction level seems perfect. I wish you the best of luck!
  13. Are you referring to support group meetings? I live about an hour from Baton Rouge.
  14. My surgeon didn't require that I lose weight prior to surgery but recommended that I try to lose 3-5 pounds.
  15. Good luck to both of you!
  16. Lisa, every doctor seems to have different post-op diet instructions. I've attached a link to my surgeon's post-op diet, which had me on clear liquids for only 2 days. Just remember to trust in your surgeon. http://www.geocities.com/tricia_kutz/misc/post-op-diet.JPG
  17. For breakfast, I have one of the following: 1 scrambled egg w/cheese 8-16 oz. Protein shake (depending upon restriction level) 8 oz. yogurt 1 packet instant oatmeal

I haven't taken Metformin since I had the surgery. Both my PCP and my surgeon didn't see the need for it any longer.
  19. Ding, ding, ding!! We have a winner!! Here's your gold star. giveyouthemoon
  20. Congratulations and good luck to both you and your husband.
