Prettylady512 got a reaction from cindyw41 in Surgery in a few days, any last minute advice?
Hey! Everyone has given you some great information. I will like to add, bring a cami shirt with a built-in bra. As one of the incisions are close to where an underwire bra will lay. The first night is the worse, so like many have already said...walk ASAP. And bring your own robe. Good luck!

Prettylady512 got a reaction from Aeris54 in PCOS and Weight Loss
Luckily I'm not back on medication yet. It took about 6mos. This is tmi...but there were months when my partner and I were having crazy amounts of bedroom fun (even before and on ovulation day) and my period came as scheduled. I gave up...I started to think my lady parts weren't working!!!...lol. Then out of nowhere I was pregnant about the 6th month.
I just say give it some more time. I know that can be frustrating to hear. But at least a solid 6-12 months. As that's how long it usually takes some couples. Have fun in the process!!!...lol.

Congrats on your weight loss! I would not worry, especially being that you have having a menstrual/ovulating every month. 3-4 months is not a long time in regards to conceiving. I am at a weight loss of 75lbs, I have PCOS as well and my diabetes started to come back as well. And I just found out I'm 6wks pregnant (7mos post op). Wish you the best.

Prettylady512 reacted to sizesevenpp in Do we change as we loose weight? Opinions please ...
I believe that we DON'T change at our core because that is set based on out morals, values and beliefs. However, there is a major change in my personality. Having been discriminated due to my size and appearance, I am more confident, hopeful, and while always happy, even more so.
Also, because my health is great, I have more energy, and am exponentially more active. Now, that said, I have new associates that I've met at the gym and at various activities, because my longtime friends are still inactive, like I used to be. However, I still love my friends and spend a lot of time with them. However, because I don't want to make a big deal over my weight loss, when they comment, I just say thanks and tell them how much healthier I feel. Even though I am excited to pieces over the weight loss, I don't call attention or make over the physical change because I am sensitive to their struggles.

I have pcos, my period was absent for 8 straight months prior to my surgery date. After surgery I am now every 28 days. Which is something I have never experienced until after surgery.

Prettylady512 reacted to Margie122 in Surgery in February 2016. Worried.
I had similar fears. I was 290 when I started, highest weight a few months earlier than that was 295. I was constantly tired, HOT all the time and out of breath at even the slightest activity. My legs rubbed together, and all my clothes felt tight. I lost some decent weight pre-surgery, because I started the process in April of 2015 and didn't have surgery until 8/17. I don't have a lot of vacation time at work, and I had to make the appointments as late in the day as possible.
Surgery was 8/17. I went home the next day. I was readmitted the next day because of some complications I had with severe nausea and retching. I was in the hospital another 3 nights, 4 days.

Fast forward to now. I've lost almost 92lbs. I am down from a TIGHT size 22W to a 14. I can cross my legs (and I do frequently!) I can "fit" into any seat. I can walk without being out of breath. I am way more active. I'm no longer hot all the time, in fact right now as I'm typing this my feet are cold!
IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Even with getting readmitted to the hospital I would do this again in a heartbeat. Was it always EASY??? No. But it was worth it.
    You can do it.
